Zwift and Garmin Connect data

Hello everyone,

Sorry if my English is bad. I have a Garmin Edge 1050. I work with Garmin Connect. I’d like to know when I do my workouts on Zwift if all the data is sent to Garmin Connect or if I have to create duplicates with my Garmin Edge 1050 and Zwift. I searched, but I found that some say you don’t need to launch Garmin Edge, while others do.

Thx

You’ll need to connect your Zwift and Garmin Connect accounts but, once you do, your Zwift rides will be automatically imported to Garmin Connect.

This video is a bit old, but should be of reasonable help:

Yes, I’ve already done that, but I read that not all data is sent via Zwift, and you still have to launch Garmin Edge to get all the data. There will be duplicates in Garmin Connect, but it can handle duplicates. Or maybe it’s because of a Zwift update, so there’s no point in doing that now…

I suppose that depends what you mean by ‘all the data’.

I’m talking about data that allows you to use all the capabilities of Garmin Connect.

Could you be more specific? If you’re talking about the Cycling Dynamics data (L/R balance, Power Phase, etc.), I think you can only get that if recording on a Garmin device.

I don’t know. I’m not an expert enough to know. I just want to know if those who use Garmin Connect are backing up with their Garmin Edge and Zwift or only with Zwift?

I am not really sure what you are asking here. But in case it is just what it sounds like…

  • I push my Zwift workouts to Garmin Connect.
  • I do not dual record my Zwift workout also on a Garmin device.

Hope that helps.

Zwift on PC, Tacx Neo 2 + P2M power meter. Zwift with Bluetooth, Garmin 540 ANT+ double recording (Indoor mode). BLE data to Strava, ANT+ to Garmin Connect. Editing Garmin data (km + altitude).

Can you tell me why you record Garmin Connect via Garmin Edge and not directly via Zwift? What’s the benefit?

Thx

You don’t get all statistics in Garmin Connect from Zwift.
Try both (Zwift directly to GC and Edge) and compare. Example - data Left/Ride Balance and Torque are not recorded in Zwift fit file.
