I only did the baseline a few hours ago, but i do not remember how obvious it was that the workout was still ongoing, until you actually reached the final workout arch. Fortunately i was forewarned to keep going by the conversations here.
Unless I’m blind, I can’t see anything on this screen to suggest I’m still in the workout other than the final arch. If you stop before that you’ll never know.
EDIT : Actually you can see at the top of the rider list that this is still the baseline event, but there are none of the usual workout visual clues.
Its also weird they always focus on the time for the segments (if you are looking at the times in the companion app) - no mention of w/kg or average watts for the section which would be much more useful because it removes the entry speed variance.
@Roman_Kazachenok_Sym I got the same email as you, with blanks for phenotype and baseline ride figures. The email arrived at about 14:55 UTC today. This was after I completed the group baseline ride starting at 12:00 UTC yesterday. The companion app shows the ride as completed, and shows the segments, though. I don’t know where one would find phenotype info.
I had a similar issue yesterday, no onscreen prompts (only knew the segments were starting cos I’d ridden the course before). I kept riding until 27km but never got anything saying I’d finished the ride. Now it’s not showing as completed and I’ve got no email so I’m a bit confused here.
If all you want is a phenotype test, the 4D test in Sufferfest is much better. Results are instant.
My enthusiasm for Academy is waning.
Not sure how much you can really improve over the span of six workouts. This academy just seems to be a gimmick to get folks used to group rides and races.
So I did Baseline ride on Monday with banding on. Got the blank email and then the email apologising and suggestion I should do again. So did it again tonight (5pm BST). It all seemed to be normal to me. Was at proper start, with ZA jersey on etc. On usual bile (not TT) No prompts like on Monday but figured that was ‘normal’ now (I knew where segs started so no issues there) finished Volcano KOM and rode back down, passed banner at 26.4km - then nothing, kept riding till about 32km! It was never going to finish and I would have been on a never ending journey I suspect had I not stopped. So, do I get the email again with ‘proper’ phenotype and w/kg - or do I have to do the Baseline yet again!??? (Should I have deleted the first one for instance - to which there was no suggestion I should) Been a zwifter since inception just about and done ZA every year - but this years is going from bad to worse
I am also still waiting for my email. I rode about 24 hours ago.
I think the ZA will be fun to do. As to whether it will improve your fitness level after 8 weeks, i think that depends on what you do outside ZA rides. If you ONLY do the ZA rides, and nothing else, then i dont think you’ll see much change. If you do other rides around the ZA rides, I really think you could see improvements. I also think it depends on where your fitness level is when you start. If you have a low level, then you’ll see more improvement than if you’re already at a high level.
This is my first ZA, so i will see if that’s the case, at least for me. I think it will be fun anyways.
Did my baseline ride at 2pm BST 13th September. Had no issues at all with the ride, everything worked well and no rubber banding etc. Still not had the email though and over 24 hours now. Wondering what group I’m in of issues here, as everything seemed totally fine, just no follow up information.
During my baseline ride today at 19:00 CET I did not get any info on the segments and to ride easy between them. Instead I rode as hard I could over the 26km. Not ideal obviously.
Did you get the segment info on the main screen? Not sure if it’s my fault, or another bug…
As an FYI, when I finished the 1st workout the ZA percentage complete didn’t immediately update (stayed at 13%) even though I could see my ride as completed in the activities list. I restarted the app a few times, and it still didn’t update… After 5 or so minutes it then updated on yet another app restart, so if you see the percentages not going up immediately it might just take a few mins.
I’m not worried about whether or not I get the first mail as long as they have the data and have this sorted out by the finish ride.
I am also one of the unlucky folks that did the Monday ride at 6pm UTC banded, got the blank email with no results and the apology email, and got asked to do the entire bloody thing again if I want proper segment times. I redid the ride today at 6pm UTC and everything worked well, I also got prompts for the segments a finish overview in the end after km 26. My ZA overview now shows 2 attempts on the orientation ride segments and displays both the segment times impacted by rubber band (significantly slower) and the new segment times, which equal my “best segment times”. However, no e-mail yet and seriously hoping when I do it’s not gonna be blank again…
I did my baseline workout 26 hours ago, all went fine, and it shows up in my app in the Academy segment. But I still havent received an email… is it not coming anymore ?
So at this point my primary question after completing the baseline but getting the no data email is do I need to repeat the baseline to get a valid starting point? My event was not banded, I received times for all three segments, those times are reflected in the companion app, the baseline is marked as complete (13% of the total). It would seem to be a problem in transferring the data to the email template rather than a problem with the raw data in zwift. I would still like to see the W/Kg avg per segment at some point but don’t wish to hold up moving on with the workouts if I don’t have to. I can’t see in any of the above messages the blank email issue being addressed by the powers that be. Is the blank email a show stopper or not if everything else looks correct?
Yeah, this is my guess. They have all the data from your ride as you can probably see in the companion app, so I think getting it sent via whatever email service they’re using is what is messed up. I mean, it’d be nice for them to confirm that, but my guess is if you completed the non-banded ride and it shows up as an increase in percentage of ZA complete then you don’t have to redo it for any reason.
