I use an Elite Tuo trainer. It’s working correctly and resistance changes as it should through the Elite app, but in Zwift there’s no resistance change at all - hopeless, as I’m spinning up hills at 100rpm in top gear and hardly moving.
I can see hundreds of similar complaints on here and other chats but can’t find a solution. Do I simply move to a different trainer app away from Zwift?
How are you connecting to Zwift? Does your stinker show as connected on the devices screen (as both power and resistance)? Are you seeing any power numbers on the devices screen when you pedal? If connecting via Bluetooth, is your trainer still connected to the Elite app? (You can’t be connected to the Elite app and Zwift at the same time.)
Trainer difficulty set to zero?
I’m using my ipad and connecting with Bluetooth. The older version of Zwift had different options to connect - controllable or not, and then options to change how realistic the difficulty felt, but that all seems to have disappeared now. I am getting power numbers, and heart and cadence all connecting properly too, but just no resistance. I’ve made sure to turn off other apps and devices which could interfere so am tearing my hair out!
I can’t find where that is adjustable in the newest version of the app - it was really clear where to alter it in older versions, so I’m a bit stuck (and annoyed…)
On the pairing screen, Controllable has been renamed as Resistance. You need to pair the trainer for Resistance in order for the Trainer Difficulty setting to appear.
Thanks Paul - that’s not showing for me either. I’ll try again later and see if I can find it. I’ll try using my laptop to run Zwift and see it it’s a problem with the iPad app.
If you select Power Source in the first step of the pairing process, there should be a tile on the subsequent screen labelled Resistance. There are pictures of it in the documentation that show what it should look like. Do not select Speed Sensor.

Well Paul, I don’t know why, but that box popped up today, and I’m now succesfully connected to Resistance! Thank you so much for your help - I really couldn’t work out what I was doing wrong before.
