What are the 10 Changes you would like to see in Zwift?

Little things first…

A number on the Trainer difficulty slider, so we don’t have to guesstimate where it’s at. Shouldn’t be that hard to implement.

Exact XP Points total and to next level in Companion app and webpage feed.

Distance to nearby riders. It’s already there in the background, because it’s used to calculate the time.

Robopacer always visible on nearby riders list.

Lap button and watts/time/distance/HR of current and previous laps. Again, it’s already there (Alpe sectors), just needs to be modified.

Possibility to upload custom workouts on Android and/or from webpage. Not everyone has a Zwift capable PC/Mac at hand.

Oh, and some new bike and wheel unlocks above level 40.

it should work well enough, as long as they are cleanly separated. no overlap of the systems. i dont think it will work like that anyway, since zrs has it’s own power check in CS

err ok back on topic. dunno, don’t really have anything. i guess some community stuff could be more streamlined instead of done manually, like jersey unlocks, making changes to an event easily like a last minute route change or something. stuff like that. i’ve never wanted to try organising a race series because everything just seems like such a pain in the neck

  1. Better race catergorization.I would like to see fair racing without sandbaggers. At the moment some cats like B are full of people sandbagging and just sprinting to the win making sure they dont go over the limit something like Zwift Racing APP would fix it because it just works
2 Improve client side.It is so fustrating watching in your screen that you have come x position and then you have different one on the results.
3 Something that has to do with the second one is to get rid of packs of 50 people within meter. This is the thing that looks the worst from the platform watching big blobs within meters so each rider should occupy a given space.
4 Virtual shifting for other trainer brands
5 Race formats for community: Points ,elimination with real time points etc .
6 Different physics for example a Race PD and a Normal PD for group rides or general riding currently it is too harsh for group rides and too far for racing .
7 More animation of the riders and more items to purchase (drops )such as helmets shoes exclusive kits or winning animations.
8 Have all results of events within the app. Currently if you race you have to visit external pages to know real results ( Zwift Power WTRL etc)
9 More customizable UI like to be able to watch drafting percentage, real time points, better elevation profile (currently too difficult to watch).
From my point of view currently the platform is pretty good for general riding and group riding 9/10 but for racing it has lot to do to ensure fair and fun racing

It would be interesting just to know how that conversation is going at ZHQ.

I would guess that Team A really wants to be able to reply.
Here are 4 things that we’re actively working on.
Here are 6 things that we’re not currently working on, but are on our list.
Here are 8 things that we’ve thought about, but for a variety of reasons aren’t going to ever get on the list.
Here are 10 things that we haven’t thought about before, but are really interesting ideas and might get explored. Thank you!
And here are 2 things that we don’t even know why someone would suggest in the first place; you should be banned from the internet.

Team B has actually been on the internet / Zwift user forums before, and knows that telling us that would only cause more issues.
When will those 4 things be released?!?! They better work the way I specifically want them to, or else I’m quitting Zwift!
Why aren’t you working on the 6 things NOW?!? They’d be soooo easy to implement!
What do you mean you’re never going to work on those 8 things? They’re so simple. ZHQ doesn’t care about us; I’m leaving Zwift.
Those 10 things are pretty cool, right? You working on them yet? How about now? Now? When? Now? Now would be a good time.
And here’s a 16 page (front and back!) explanation of why my really obscure idea is actually the greatest idea that’s ever been thought of. It needs to be implemented exactly like I imagine it in my head, because that’s the only way I will accept the solution (that in reality is in need of a problem). No, really, it’s a great idea. Seriously, it’s such a good idea! No, you’re not understanding me right; my idea is sooo great that you just can’t see the genius of my idea.

Don’t get me wrong. I’d love for ZHQ to say that yes, we’re going to fix the elevation profile and we’re going to update the Garage to make it more user friendly, if for no other reason than it would ideally get people to stop complaining about them (narrator: people would still find a reason to complain about them). But unfortunately, I suspect that staying silent, while frustrating, in the end causes less angst, churn, and whinging & whining from the masses.

Most of your negative examples are not reasons to fear the feedback that comes from talking openly about what you are thinking about working on. Those aspects are costs of engaging with customers who care about the product. It does take a certain mindset to tolerate the noise and I understand why people fear that engagement, but a lot of value can come out of it.

It does, but that’s why companies often put community managers like Shuji between the devs and the public. Sometimes a few devs will communicate directly as well, but I feel that the intermediary can work well. It should be a two way street, with the community managers/moderators feeding back to the devs what people are saying, and them relaying the dev response to the community.

Devs don’t have to directly engage (or wade through all the negativity) for us to be told “yes, they’re working on this”, “no, that’s unlikely to be done”.

Just want to know if they are being read. And just want to know if some ideas are drippling down to certain meetings/discussions.

I don’t want to know the outcome, I understand that they can’t keep us updated about what they are working on.

But because of the very selective replies (and one reply in particular) from zhq on this forum, I doubt very much, if most is read or that any input/ request is being discussed within ZHQ

I do.

Doesn’t need to have any ETA associated, doesn’t even need to give any firm “no” responses. But I do want to know both that an idea has been seen and whether it’s a yes, maybe/needs discussion/feasibility or probably not.

It’s how I run my team, and in my own experience it keeps my users pretty happy (admittedly they are all internal/staff rather than paying public).

What I think people really liked, was structured update such as this one from back when clubs were getting some love (fix broken link to visit):

ht tps://forums.zwift.com/t/clubs-update-june-recap/586599

there you go

How about an actual support center? One that isn’t “advisor” based or one that spits out canned answers totaling: Reinstall Zwift, Reinstall Windows?

One that actually READS what is in a support request before replying to it, even once elevated. And one that will actually HELP determine what the problem IS and HOW to solve it.

I’ll add that HoloReplays should also be always visible in the nearby riders list.

Here are the ten changes I would like to see in Zwift:

  • A keyboard shortcut to give nearby riders a Ride On.
  • Keyboard shortcuts to steer left and right.
  • An option to hide all workout riders.
  • An option to display TRON bicycles as real bicycles.
  • Set Trainer Difficulty to 100% for all riders in a group ride or event.
  • The ability to turn rubber banding on and off during a meetup ride.
  • Create reoccurring meetup rides with the same people.
  • Enable riders in a meetup ride give Ride Ons.
  • Make frame, wheel set, and kit favourites for specific rides.
  • Create and share routes.

I have an addition to my porevious list, that would probably be pretty high on my priorities:

  • Add an option to turn off the name-badges flying above riders heads and behind you. In big group they are just a big mess and cannot be used for anything anyway…

This can be done by the events team.

Nice to know that this option is available. It would be nice if Zwift set Trainer Difficulty to 100% for all Tour rides and let me set it for my Meetup rides.

The problem is setting it to 100% really is kind of pointless unless you enforce riders trainer model like they do at the elite level.

Anyone can unpair controllable, use a power meter or use a cheaper training that can not replicate gradient to the same level as others and the 100% is meaningless.

and what if I have more gears than you do on my bike? pointless

Kickr shift - I can change my gear config / ratio on the fly mid ride, don’t even need to stop pedalling.

The tour rides are not elite events. People ride them with speed sensors, non-controllable trainers, spin bikes, smart trainers that can only simulate a 6% grade, and bikes with poor gear choice that require lower Trainer Difficulty to complete the route. It would be nice if it were an option for organizers, but I don’t see Zwift using that setting for their non-elite races or group rides.
