This one has my vote. Should have been supported by now, just shows the incompetence of Zwift. All other (major) platforms support it already.
I completely agree. The dropouts are very frustrating and supporting the direct connection makes complete sense to me. What’s taking so long Zwift?
I purchased the Kickr Direct connect and waiting for a further zwift update to support it. I hope it will be soon
Any update on the development for this. I started indoor training and my Zwift trial the same week the direct connect was released. I purchased a DC and thought I would wait to sign up until the direct connect was supported thinking maybe <2 months. Now wondering if it will ever be supported??
I’m wondering whether Zwift are waiting until they release their own smart bike/trainer with a cabled connection and want to make that the first one they support, before perhaps adding the Kickr later.
I sure hope not!!
I would like to know how many Direct Connects Wahoo has sold to how many are actually being used. Zwift being the most popular cycling app I’m betting the percentage of unused vs used Direct Connects is quite high. I bet they sold a lot and they are just sitting waiting for Zwift to implement it.
Whoops, replied to the wrong person the was reply was meant for Steve’s comments.
Doesn’t anybody know if the Kickr Direct Connect support is getting close to release on zwift?
Eveyone please vote for this feature request here: Wahoo Direct Connect Adapter
I use the CABLE by NPE. Never had any problems connecting
1: Kickr V5
2: Garmin HR
3: Rotor 2inPower meter
4: Rotor cadance
Displayed using Zwift on Apple TV
Good for you. However, for those of us who have already invested in Wahoo´s Direct Connect device, it is preferable if Zwift would just implement support for it rather than having to buy another third party device to solve the connection issues we experience with ANT+ and BLE.
Yeah this would be great, please sort it Zwift
Bought one without realizing it is not supported by Zwift. (Doh). Now waiting for my investment to be realised.
Seven months since the release of the Kickr Direct Connect module which was developed (in part) to address the connectivity issues a LOT of people have on Zwift.
This device has the potential to improve the Zwift experience for a LOT of users, yet there’s still no support for it.
Why the delay?
Because it’s something useful that people actually want?
Probably why other platforms have integrated it.
All the non-RFI sensor problems, with almost every release breaking some kind of connectivity for some subset of users, lead me to believe that the interface code is made of spaghetti, making adding Direct Connect support nontrivial. Probably still going to get one pretty soon though because other platforms (and I don’t even have RFI issues).
Everyone, don’t worry this feature is planned to ship alongside the IQ2 power meter, in early Q5 of this or next year
I suspect that direct connection will be an exclusive feature for the upcoming Zwift trainer(s)/smartbike.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Zwift Smartbike had a model option for an integrated screen unit.
This is my suspicion too.
A key selling point would be ease of setup, so we can’t have other hardware also getting easier to setup.
