Wahoo Kickr and Zwift cog and Ride

Hi,

Just upgraded my Kickr to a V6 version and got the Zwift Ride. Having read a few reviews saying the instructions were bad I thought I could work it out! Boy was I wrong the ride comes with instructions for the click in hard copy booklet form, nothing for the Kickr, videos again show how to remove the cassette off the Wahoo.

But again nothing to say what spacers you need to fit the Kickr to the Ride, Ride booklet shows cassette fitting with 42 not 48 mm and a spacer on opposite side with the thru axle.

Great but again no mention of ride so set up with 48mm and thought wasn’t ride but worked, took 48mm off and put on 42mm to find pedals where solid Mrs couldn’t turn them I got on not much better and I am capable of pushing a big load….took ride off again took Kickr adapters out and tried them all one for eventually. re-torqued up the ride and worked fine took over 2 hours to sort this out throughout the day!

A simple Kickr booklet of instructions included would have explained this, Zwift kept saying refer to cog instructions V1 of the cog had a QR code on it V2 comes with Ride Nothing in it or with it!!!

Almost sacked it off and sent it back if I didn’t have things on and time out throughout the day taking me away I would have done!

Wanted to send this as feedback to Zwift but unable to find email hence post :smiling_face_with_tear:

I assume you are talking about the 148mm/142mm adapters, not 48mm/42mm

For Zwift support email: support@zwift.com

For Wahoo adapters appropriate to a 142mm thru-axle bike you can also ask Wahoo support since that’s not specific to the Zwift hardware, after looking at their support document…

Hi Paul,

Yes 142 & 148, thanks for reply :+1:

Hi @Kevin_Otter.

If you have any questions about how to install the adapters, I highly recommend checking out the article “Setting Up Your Zwift Ride Smart Frame.” It offers some great information that could help you. Just a heads up, since the adapters come directly from Wahoo, they’re the best source in case you need a replacement.
