I have a Kickr Core and Play controllers running on Mac OS. Despite turning Virtual Shifting off in settings during a Zwift session, it resets back to on when I next launch the app. Is that supposed to happen? None of my other settings options automatically reset themselves.
Hi @Lebasi_Lashley, welcome back to Forums. I’m Juan from Zwift. I understand how surprising it is for you to see the Virtual shifting on despite it being disabled.
Zwift may sometimes retain incorrect information from previous connections. I hope you don’t mind trying to reset your game preferences to see if this helps. To do so, please click on this link.
If the issue persists, we could need to take a look at prefs.xml file located in your Mac in the Documents/Zwift folder to figure out if Virtual Shifting is somehow behaving as enabled on your Mac.
The best way to move forward would be by contacting us. We will be happy to assist you.
Your settings for Virtual Shifting should persist. That’s the expected behavior unless other Zwifters in the house are using that same computer and Play controllers and setting Virtual Shifting to “on” after you’ve ridden.
That preference is stored in your prefs.xml file as Juan mentioned. Deleting that file in the Documents\Zwift folder will reset that VS setting - but it will also reset ALL of your in-game setting preferences so you’ll want to go through them all.
Thanks Shooj,
No other Zwifters in my household. It has reset itself to on a couple of times after I closed a session. I will try it again and then check the preferences doc to see if it resets or reflects my change — then I’ll report back.
Thanks!
