Upcoming Changes to iOS and tvOS Support [Effective August 2026]

Hi Zwifters,

Starting May 12, 2026, we’ll begin communicating an upcoming change to the minimum supported operating system (OS 15) for Zwift game app on Apple TV and Apple mobile devices.

The Zwift game app will no longer function on deprecated operating systems beginning August 4, 2026. The following operating systems will be impacted:

Zwift Game app:

  • iOS 13 and iOS 14.
  • tvOS 13 and tvOS 14.

Affected Zwifters currently using these operating systems will see messaging in-game and should also receive a notification via email.

Many existing devices running older operating systems can upgrade their OS without needing to replace the device. In some cases, members may need to free up storage space before updating.

If your current device cannot be upgraded to iOS/tvOS 15 or later, you may already own another compatible device. Please view the list of supported devices to run the main app here. The requirements for the Zwift Companion app are here.

As far as I can tell there are absolutely no devices that can run iOS or tvOS 13 or 14 but can’t run 15, and every Apple TV device supported by Zwift can run tvOS 26. So my read on this change is that there is no requirement to replace any device.

What @Paul_Southworth said should be true in nearly all cases. We are allowing for the possibility of older hardware running operating systems not officially supported by Apple.

We recommend updating OS sooner rather than later. A reminder that Apple OS updates will reset your Bluetooth and Local Network Device settings to a more restrictive default setting. You may need to manually grant permissions for the Zwift app to have Bluetooth and Local Network access.
