Unclear situation with gradient (Tacx Flux 2)

Hi,
I disassembled my Tacx Flux 2 to service the belt. After cleaning the belt and shafts, I put the trainer back together and started having strange power issues. The only way to use the trainer is in ERG mode. If I go uphill, the resistance seems insufficient. If I go downhill with any gradient, the displayed power drops to 60 watts, but it’s hard to pedal. I calibrated the Tacx app and Zwift, but it didn’t work. Using the trainer with Apple TV.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Sounds like a frustrating issue—let’s see what you can double-check.

Since this started after servicing the belt, it’s possible something didn’t go back together quite right. Here are a few things to check and test:

If the belt is too loose, resistance might feel weak, especially on climbs. If it’s too tight, it could cause drag on descents. Tacx recommends adjusting the tension carefully—I’d recommend checking his manual. Tacx‎ FLUX 2/S Owner’s Manual.

Try using the Tacx Utility App (or Garmin Tacx Training App) to check the trainer’s power readings independently of Zwift. If power numbers are inconsistent or don’t match another power meter, it might be a hardware issue.

Ensure your trainer is running the latest firmware. If issues persist, try a factory reset via the Tacx Utility App.

Can you try ANT+ to see how it goes too?

Hello @Francisco_J , thank you. Unfortunately, ANT+ is not an option because of Apple TV.
I have ordered the new belt and will try to install it tomorrow first. The current one run about 15 000 km. I also have watched some videos today and now i think about magnets, some of them may be damaged because of wrong assembling. I will check it and report here.

Hi, the problem is solved. The problem was in the Tacx Flux 2 hardware.
When replacing the belt, I made a mistake in the assembly, which led to damage to the magnets - the bar was bent and some magnets came off. I straightened the bar with a hammer and glued the magnets back. An important point for those who will have a similar problem - the magnets must be arranged alternately (polarity North-South-North-South, etc.) I used the compass to definite the polarity.
