Hi, new to Zwift, frustrated beyond belief
I’ve a Saris H3,
Zwift can sometimes can take 10 minutes to load while a message says its not responding. My laptop locks up.
Next, there is no change in resistance when doing a route.
I thought the entire point of this was that zwift adjusted resistance.
I’ve started and stopped, logged in and out, connected and reconnected. Its a massive time wasting effort just to have it still not work.
I just spent 2 hours to ride with minimal resistance for 25 minutes.
It’s so crappy I just spin using my garmin to adjust resistance and just shut zwift off.
Im using a PC running Windows 10, ive tried bridging with my phone, ANT+, Bluetooth, updated the firmware, spindown calibration.
Had to edit… im spitting nails mad and yes, I realize I didnt make sense.
This is probably not a trainer problem. It might be a problem with using ANT+ since there is an occasional bug with that. To rule that out, remove the ANT+ dongle.
To debug anything related to the Windows machine, I would need to know its hardware specs and if it is using solid state storage.
Upload a log file to trainerdx.com and hit the Share button on the report. Post it here for more discussion. You may need to mangle the URL a little to get the forum to accept the link.
I’m experiencing it with both Bluetooth and ANT
This part of your problem makes me think this is not a trainer problem. Either post a link to the log report or share the details about the PC. Most laptops have a model ID printed on the bottom that would be useful.
And thanks, ill try and figure out the upload
Just to clarify the ANT+ issue, here’s an example: Pairing screen problems using ANT dongle - #3 by Chris_Lawrence_CWCC
The problem is not that you use the ANT+ adapter for pairing, it sometimes happens when the dongle is plugged into the PC whether you use it or not. I am not sure if this is what you’re experiencing or if it’s something about the PC hardware, but the way to rule it out is to remove the ANT+ adapter.
laptop label, again thanks for the tips so far
OK a P69G001 is a Dell Inspiron with an Intel i3 6100U CPU. It shipped with 4GB RAM and a 1TB HDD for storage. There are a few things about it…

4GB RAM is below the minimum requirements for Zwift. I don’t know if you have added memory to it already, but if it still has 4GB that is not enough. 8GB is the minimum for Zwift.

Using a mechanical hard drive (HDD) will always result in very slow load times and very slow game updates. It is recommended to use solid state storage (SSD) or performance running Zwift will be pretty miserable. It is possible to replace the HDD with SSD which would make it faster, but may not be worth it given the other specs for the device.

There is a known problem with Zwift on 6th generation Intel integrated graphics. This is the thing that changed in the game a couple updates ago. The solution to that is installing an updated video driver which you can obtain from the Intel website. You will probably need to download the zip file version of the driver as discussed in this topic: Windows 10 freeze on Surface Pro 4/Intel integrated GPU [February 2026]
So if you install that driver and make sure the machine has 8GB RAM installed, it will probably be possible to use it. The system is too slow to run Zwift well, but it should work if you meet those conditions. Given its age, slow CPU, and slow storage, I would think about replacing it if you can afford something newer. It’s possible to add RAM and replace the storage in it, but in my opinion that would be a questionable use of money and effort. If you do decide to replace it with another laptop, I must warn you to avoid any Windows machine with an ARM CPU (eg, Snapdragon) because those are not supported for running Zwift.
Paul, thanks again, ill see if I have RAM i can scavenge until I can manage a laptop.
