Trainer Road not syncing [iPad] [June 2025] [1.92]

I seem to have an issue with the new update - TrainerRoad workouts are not pulling throught. It seems to be IOS specific.

I resorted to various troubleshooting on the iPad when I tried to do my TR workout this morning, nothing was there and did a Zwift workout in the end.

After all of that, I started Zwift on the Mac, it went through the Zwift update process, and the TrainerRoad workout was there. So it has pulled through to Zwift.
Logged out, went back and signed on to the iPad, thinking something may have refreshed - still no TR workout there. And yes, I also checked custom workouts on the iPad, the TR “folder” does not even exist. And all was working fine yesterday before the update.

Are you on a phone or tablet? I have not had any issues with TR workouts on my iPad.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Can I ask you to try something?
Please check that Trainer Road is still synced to Zwift either in the Zwift Companion app or your Zwift profile webpage. Here’s how.

What happens if you schedule the same workout from today to tomorrow on the TrainerRoad end, then immediately move it back to today - does it trigger a resync from the TR end?

If not - third thing to try is to disconnect Trainer Road in step 1 above, then re-connect. That will re-sync from the Zwift end.

Thanks @shooj - did check, it is still connected. And the Zwift workout I did, did sync back to TR. Plus the real kicker was that it was synced to my Mac running newest Zwift version, but even after that, it was still now on iOS - on the iPad/tablet if I re-sign in there. (I even rebooted the tablet out of desperation - not even the Windows trick worked…)

Will see what happens tomorrow - but saw another complaint like this on TR forums as well, also on iPad/tablet.

Thanks John - I am obviously one of the participants there, and when I realised that I can see it on Mac but still not on iPad, I suspected it would be good to mention here as well. Appreciate the assistance.
Have moved today’s w/o to tomorrow and will see whether it syncs on iPad tomorrow.

Thanks for looping back.

While you’re troubleshooting using different machines - please be mindful of two things:

  1. Simultaneous logins from more than one machine can cause weird symptoms, this being one of them. Looking at your server logs, it seems that you’re careful to save-and-exit (or trash-and-exit) on each machine before logging in on the next machine, but please be aware.

  2. Even if you’re using only the iPad to log in - it’s good practice to force-close the app after you log out. Force-closing is different from just swiping the app into the background, which leaves the app running.

Hi @shooj - no worries, aware of those constraints that can lead to issues. But still the same this morning. Nothing on Ipad, did Zwift w/o, it synced to TR. Killed app. Signed on to Mac, and the workout (Garrowby +5) was synced to my Mac.

So the sync itself works. It just does not display on my ipad for some reason, not even the TR folder/collection in custom workouts.
Very weird - but I am off for a couple of days now and will see how things stand when I return.

Maybe I’ll fully reinstall Zwift on the iPad later today as another test.

The team made headway in finding a root cause, and we’ll have a fix for it as soon as possible.
In the meantime - we were able to reproduce your findings that workouts seem to populate on a desktop machine (mac/PC) but not an an iPad. Apologies for the inconvenience, but if it’s at all feasible to use your laptop for the time being, that seems to still work as expected.

I have just uploaded the latest update.
Once uploaded my workout returned to the start and my heart rate monitor had no signal

Hi @Craig_Powell, can you be more specific please? What workout? Is it a TrainerRoad workout, what platform and devices are you using, etc…???

I’m using the Wahoo Kickr Core and the work was the 12 week back to fitness. Had to enroll on the training again.

ok, so the plan was reset basically, I hadn’t heard or seen any recent issues like that. You can contact support@zwift.com to see if they can restore your progress.

Hello- my TR workout also has not been syncing for a few days
