Trainer connected my avatar doesn't move

I have a Wahoo Kickr Core which I connected to the Zwift app on my phone. I can see on the Zwift app that its connected BUT when I go to pedal the CADENCE, Wattage and resistance doesn’t show … my little avatar sits there and the screen is telling me to pedal which I am but its not picking it up ???

any help would be greatly appreciated.

is it paired to both resistance, power and cadence, all 3 areas?

Yes it is.

do you have an active paid subscription?

yes I do

Do you think it might be something with my membership ?

Do you have zwift on any other device? PC, IPAD etc. if so check you are logged out everywhere than try again.

if it is paid up, then no, it shouldn’t be the membership.

Can you try force closing the Zwift app, and use the Wahoo app to check and update firmware on the trainer if needed, perform a spindown, see if Wahoo can get power readings from it.

No sir, only been using my Iphone - I have tried everything, reinstalling the Kickr Core on the bike, made sure the software was updated. Deleted all other apps. brought my router closer to the kickr core, deleted and reinstalled – CHAT GPT walked me through other steps…

I have tried the spin down but will try it again .. are you talking about the power readings from when I perform a spin down ?

this is an old video, so its probably out dated, but you want to see power readings somewhere on the app if you start a workout.

Hi @adel_elayouti1 welcome to Zwift forums.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I’m able to see your server logs and there are some things I’m seeing that are working against you.

You have logged into the main Zwift app on an iPhone, and iPad and a Samsung Galaxy, no doubt to troubleshoot. That’s understandable, but you should uninstall the main Zwift app from every device except the one you intend to use (I’m guessing the iPad for the big screen, yes?)

That’s because simultaneous logins create all sorts of weird problems. As an example, your trainer might be paired to device 1 while you’re trying to also use device 2 at the same time.

  1. Please uninstall the main Zwift app from all three devices.
  2. Your iPad is still on iOS 18.6.2. Please manually update to the latest iOS 26.1.
  3. Now - re-install the main Zwift app on your iPad (assuming this is the indeed the one you want to use). When you first launch it, you’ll be prompted to allow Bluetooth permissions. Say yes. If you skip this part, you’ll have issues pairing to your trainer.

Why: any time Apple updates iOS / macOS / tvOS, it strips the app permissions to a stricter security and that breaks Bluetooth.

  1. When you finish a Zwift activity, always save-and-exit (or trash-and exit) to properly log out.
  2. If using Zwift on a mobile device - it’s a good idea to force-quit the Zwift app as well. Here’s how on iPad. Force-quit is not the same thing as swiping an app into the background, which keeps the app running.

Would you try those things and let us know if the avatar moves?

Hi Shuji - Thanks for email me. I have deleted every form of riding app on every phone I have. Yes, you were correct I did log into all the different phones / ipad to try to see if it would allow me to resolve the issue. Here is what I have done Please uninstall the main Zwift app from all three devices. I have logged out of app and would like you to check the logs to see if I am logged in anywhere. This is getting really frustrated - I am about to ask for a refund. Please see my answers below in bold.

  1. Your iPad is still on iOS 18.6.2. Please manually update to the latest iOS 26.1. - I am not going to use my daughters IPAD - using my IPhone 16 - iOS26.1 is installed on the phone

  2. Now - re-install the main Zwift app on your iPad (assuming this is the indeed the one you want to use). When you first launch it, you’ll be prompted to allow Bluetooth permissions. Say yes. If you skip this part, you’ll have issues pairing to your trainer. I gave the app permission to everything.

Why: any time Apple updates iOS / macOS / tvOS, it strips the app permissions to a stricter security and that breaks Bluetooth.

  1. When you finish a Zwift activity, always save-and-exit (or trash-and exit) to properly log out. - Not a problem

Hi @adel_elayouti1
Today’s server logs indicate the first login for the day was on a Samsung SM-A356W. The subsequent logins were from an iPhone.

If the iPhone is what you want to use, please uninstall the Zwift main app from the Samsung. Having an open session from two different devices will create this problem.

OTHER THEORY: please snap a photo of the bike’s entire drivetrain while it’s mounted to he KICKR Core and drop it in your reply? A wide shot simliar to this, except you don’t need to be on the bike.

Please confirm the following:

  1. I do not see evidence that you’re using a Zwift Play / Zwift Click controller or a Zwift Ride smart frame, is that correct?

  2. Are you using a bike mounted to the KICKR Core which has a multi-speed gear cassette installed on it? If so - I’d like to see if that’s a mountain bike with a small front chainring, or some other type of bicycle with more than one front chainring.

This might be an issue where the physical gearing on your bike is very low and you’re spinning your cranks without generating much power to the trainer.

Hey,

Attached is the pic you requested. It uninstalled the app on the Samsung. I am only using one device now. I was using two to try to see if I could get it to work on another device.

Thanks for the photos, that’s very helpful. A road bike with the chain set on the large chainring should be just fine, and we’ve eliminated the too-low physical gearing as a suspect.

Now that that’s done - please power cycle the iPhone, the KICKR trainer and launch the Zwift app again. In the game’s Pairing Screen - it’s important to pair in this sequence or things might not work correctly:

  1. Power: over Bluetooth, please. This one must be done first.
  2. Resistance: there may be a ~15 second delay before this signal shows up. That is normal and expected over Bluetooth.
  3. Cadence:
  4. Controls: won’t apply to you as you’re not using a Zwift Play or Click to control virtual shifting.
  5. Heart rate monitor (if you’re using one)

Then from the Zwift home screen - choose any cycling activity and drop into a world & route.

  • When your avatar spawns in the world - please describe the resistance feeling that the trainer provides. In your photos - your bike is in a tall-ish gear that should generate a good deal of resistance. Does it?
  • Does the avatar move at all?
  • In the upper left corner of the screen - your heads up display indicates how much power (in watts) the trainer is broacasting. Does that stay at zero, or do the numbers change?

If none of these things is happening, there may be a problem with the trainer hardware, and it’s time to troubleshoot by pairing the trainer to the Wahoo Fitness app.

Hi!! Same problem here! My avatar doesn’t move! I vê already updated the firmware of the elite direto, and even on my phone or tablet It os not working! The signal recognition seems ok in the beginning!! Helppppp

Do you have an active subscription? Are you seeing watts/power on the screen or is everything all zeros/blank?
