Titans Grove Velociraptors?! (and other Easter Eggs)

Yes, I knew about that bear.

What about the rumoured starting areas for rowing?

There´s actually a third bear ( plus the static statue which could count as a fourth… )

I managed to spot all three on the same ride a few times, and a good friend of mine spotted them many times.

Those do exist, though I don’t think I’ve put eyes on them. Island Waterways route: https://www.facebook.com/ZwiftHype/videos/zwift-rowing/447078759538203/

I followed the rowing saga pretty closely as I used to own a Concept2 rowing machine. My first 677.5km (+10050m of climbing) in Zwift was on the rower! (NPE-CABLE pod to bridge the gap)

I sold the rower, bought a smart trainer and haven’t looked back - cycling’s just way more social with hands-free to interact on the Companion app.

You are probably correct but remember that Jurasic Park movie lied to us - the “velociraptors” in that movie were actually deinonychus.

Velociraptor sounds cooler but real Velociraptors were quite small.

edit: yes, i have small children so am at peak dinosaur

It is in the waters ab0ver Squoias Circle which can be seen when you exit the Underwater tunnel towards the wind farm.

You will need to pan the camera angle with arrow keys after pressing ‘0’ to lock the view (1 to 9) to find it.

In Fuego Flats there is a spot where a blue roadrunner bird runs with you. Remembers me of the great roger rabbit cartoons with coyote never catching this fella. Although I didn’t spot the coyote chasing him so far.

There’s even a road sign warning you about the Road Runner :baby_chick::grin:

Update: took a screen cap in Titan’s Grove while running Zwift on a PC (Ultra graphics profile, 4k-Ultra res) … caught the dinos again!

Also turns out Pace Partners (Diesel in Makuri, at least), despite riding the bidon-free Z1, do attempt to “drink”.

The velociraptors, roadrunner, yeti, falling bear, etc… are all very clearly visible on AppleTV!

Another Easter egg, this one better known - it is in the sky.

Chris, what are we looking at there? Is that the Yeti visible off in the distance, at the summit if AdZ?

Aurora Borealis.

Ah, gotcha. (I was seeing that blue thumb above a rider as being a figure further off in the distance. :ride_on:)

There are great images of the yeti here:

AdZ at night is amazing. Aurora + Giant Space Laser.

I wonder what it would be like with a real night time level of brightness.

That would make the lights on our bikes more useful, lighting up the road and some nearby scenery. It might be a bit crazy with a 100+ group of riders though.

At this time of day? At this time of year? In this part of Watopia? Localized entirely on the Alpe du Zwift?

You need to get to the top of ADZ when it is night.

I also had the space laser going too.

Normally I didn’t pay attention to the sky at the top of ADZ because I’m usually exhausted if I’ve gone quickly, so it’s easy to miss.

Yeti is very rare to see.

Yeah for sure, I’ve been up 30-40 times and still haven’t seen that thing. Maybe my eyes are not that good.
