This week I have noticed a strange issue with my Tacx Neo 2T: when I stop pedaling, end and save the ride, the Tacx continues slowly riding on its own.
When I stop riding, the trainer starts slowing down normally, but never fully stops; at some point it seems to even increase the speed. Only when I close the Zwift app the Tacx starts to slow down and eventually stops.
This has happened twice so far. Anyone else noticed similar issues?
I have a Zwift Ride connected to Tacx Neo 2T with the latest firmware with Zwift cog and run the application on a Macbook Air 2024 with the latest MacOS 26. I believe the app version was yesterday 1.98 and today 1.99.
are you on a negative gradient when slowing down? Tack Neo2T will simulate downhill and it will not stop spinning the trainer. The other option is also that it is controlled by some other application that is doing this.
I just found out that the strange Neo 2T behaviour has been reported to Garmin three months ago. According to the Garmin support this is the ”normal behaviour” and it seems they are not going to investigate it more.
As the Neo 2T stops spinning when I close the app, I will not investigate this further.
Interesting this topic popped back up because I actually noticed this on my NeoBike V2 yesterday. Early in my ride I got the bike upgrade unlock notification so I waited until the end of the ride to “buy” it and not lose progress to the next upgrade. The end of the ride was on a flat section and my avatar just kept slow rolling. I was locked out of buying the upgrade in the garage because I was still moving. In the past I could use my brakes to stop but it did not work yesterday. I don’t recall if the flywheel was still spinning or not though. Luckily it hit a slight uphill and finally stopped.
ETA: It did it again this morning. I finished the ride, applied the brakes and my flywheel did stop turning, but the avatar continued to coast on a decline.
