Sync Zwift activities to Apple Health

Thanks a ton. I’m going to see what I can accomplish with HealthFit, which I already have. If that doesn’t really work, I’ll give this a try. Pretty absurd that Zwift can’t fix this. It’s basic stuff.

I do something similar:

  • I use Zwift as normal with chest Bluetooth HRM etc. and Zwift syncing to Strava.
  • On the Apple side I have Strava pushing activities to Apple Fitness, which annoyingly doesn’t include HRM data.
  • To get HRM data I always start an Indoor Cycle activity on Apple Watch, and once everything is synced from Strava I remove the Indoor Cycle activity from Apple Fitness (remove workout only, not workout and data), this gets the constant Apple Watch HRM data added to the Zwift/Strava activity in Apple Fitness without keeping duplicate activities or messing about with other 3rd party apps.

I can’t open tout blog?

That’s absurd. Other apps have integrated apple health just fine. Look at cadence for example. That’s a tiny team in comparison.

This isn’t a not for profit organization. We’re all paying for this.

This is my first day with zwift after getting the jetblack victory trainer. Jumping through all of these hoops to get basic features working makes me want to return it.

Like everyone else, it seems madness that the data isn’t syncing when RunGap does this so well. RunGap even pulls in elevation into the Apple Health eco-system. A company of Zwift’s size should surely be able to get this working.

I doubt it’s a skill issue, seems more one of wanting to keep people in their ecosystem.

More likely it’s a question of how many new or retained customers can they get for the cost of that work compared to working on any number of other features. There are a lot of great product ideas out there, some of which eventually rise to the top and get worked on. This could be one of those some day, but we don’t know where it stands and they’re unlikely to dispel that uncertainty. They have improved the API used for third party integrations which resulted in several new ways to export and analyze fitness data, but I doubt Apple would take any notice of that.

Just another voice pleading for simple sync from Zwift or ZC into Apple Health, regardless of data source.

Setup: Zwift on ATV, Zwift Hub for speed/power/cadence/resistance, 4iiii HRM strap paired to ATV via Zwift Hub, ZC running on iOS.

I don’t want to use my Apple Watch as the HRM source, don’t want to pair to a watch to pair to my ZC for HRM, and don’t want to have to rely on Strava or Garmin for import to Apple Health.

It’s notable that Strava and Garmin can both pull into Health, even for data sourced from Zwift or other apps, and I have other apps (MySwimPro, FitBod) that are also capable of natively pushing data to Apple Health/Fitness.

I have solved the pairing issues so that apple watch connects realiably and that all data is uploaded automatically not using other apps to health.

These are the steps for first time users in order for the companion app to ask for health premissions you need to:

  1. Open zwift on ipad/mac/whatever (not iphone)
  2. Open zwift companion on phone then watch
  3. Open the connect a hr monitor on zwift
  4. Your iphone companion app should say please connect to health so that you can use this feature
  5. Open settings-apps-health-data access and press on zwift companion the turn on all should be pressed

From then on:
Then download either free heartcast or paid ECHO watch heart rate (works much better)
Use them to connect the watch to zwift not the companion app.
Your workouts will be saved to health app with hr data and will count towards your fitness goals. Only thing you need to do in the beginning of each Workout is open both hr app and companion and it will work great

Just chiming in here as someone who came from the Peloton app where all the info is synced to apple health with no issues.

So can the dev team update the app to just do what Peloton does?

Just another voice pleading for simple sync from Zwift or ZC into Apple Health, regardless of data source. Any updates on that?

If you happen to use intervals.icu, my free Intervals Companion iOS app will sync Zwift activities from intervals.icu to Apple Health. I guess I can’t post links here but search the App Store for “intervals companion” and you will find it.

If I can figure out how to do this why can’t Zwift?!
