Steering not working - Tacx Neo Smart Bike

I’ve been using steering with the buttons on the handlebars of my Neo Smart Bike for a while now with no issues, but after one of the recent updates (sorry I don’t know for sure which one) it is no longer working. Steering is showing as connected as normal in the pairing screen but when riding the buttons just aren’t doing anything now.

Any ideas as to why this might be and what I can do to fix it would be much appreciated - cheers!

@shooj Could these be related?

Had steering issues on my Wahoo Bike Saturday, which i never have…
Was fine again sunday and my Neobike was fine today.

Not sure if Zwift is messing with something serverside or just a coincidence - :thinking:
I wouldn’t be surprised if it works again on your next ride :crossed_fingers:

I did get it working again last night. Even though it said it was connected (as usual) it didn’t work initially - I had to disconnect and reconnect everything and eventually it started working again. Hopefully that won’t be needed every time going forward!

Hi @Paul_Bridgman_cyclec
Question: When the steering stopped working, were you using your PC or your AppleTV? I’m guessing it was the PC?

Looking at your recent server log history - your PC has an ANT dongle. During some sessions, I see you pairing your Tacx Power and Resistance over ANT, but the Controller is paired over Bluetooth. The name of the signal will say “FE-C” when it’s ANT.

Please make sure everything is paired over Bluetooth by unplugging the ANT dongle from the computer. Steering works over Bluetooth only.
Would you let us know if that solves this issue?

Assuming yes - I’d recommend you retire the dongle. It’s doing more harm than good unless you have an old Garmin heart rate monitor that broadcasts over ANT-only, in which case you have to pay attention to how your devices are paired every single ride, and that’s a lot more trouble than it’s worth if you ask me.
