I have seen multiple posts on this but after investigating I still have not figured it out.
I ride and all the riders from the list drops out and I don’t see any riders on the road. The graphics look great though and I am able to ride by myself. Occasionally riders appear but they are minutes away from me. When this happens the ride is unable to load to strava.
I’m running a wired connected to my modem. Speedtest shows 42Mbps with ping of 2ms to a server in Portland, OR. I’ve tried disabling my firewall and making exceptions for the TCP and UDP ports. I’ve also checked to see that I’m not running from a proxy/VPN server. I have no other issues with other devices using the same internet connection.
I’ve experienced the same problem of riders dropping off and having to ride alone. The only way I could get them back was to log off and log back on. Must be something in their software that once they’re gone you can’t recover them or their placement? I believe my problem was due to internet connection issues. I was running on a 5Ghz network, and lost internet connection which dropped all the other riders. This may have happened because my trainer is quite a ways away from my wireless router. A 5Ghz system is faster but less successful than a 2.4 system at penetrating solid objects (my interior walls). I switched to the 2.4 Ghz network and have not had any problems since. At the above mentioned speed, that’s not your problem.Hope this may give you something to try and I hope it helps. Good luck and Ride On!

My connection is not wireless it is wired so the 2.4G vs 5G system idea won’t (unfortunately) be able to help me. Still haven’t had any luck in figuring this out…
For some reason your connection is getting dropped. Zwift should reconnect automatically but in your case, that doesn’t seem to be happening. It sounds like some kind of a firewall issue. Also, which platform? PC / Mac / iPhone / iPad?
Have you opened up a ticket and attached your log files? If not, please do so:
This same thing has been happening to me. If I turn off my wifi and turn it back on, the game reconnects and riders reappear. I’ve noticed it only happens when I am running the Zwift Companion App. If I am not running Zwift Companion, I do not have the issue. Has anyone else noticed this?
Similar thing happened to me yesterday but in my case it is a lost Wi-Fi. I reconnect and the riders show up again. Becomes a problem when you’re riding with someone. By the time it comes back on line you have no idea where they are. Have not tried turning off Mobile App to see if that matters but without it I can’t give “Ride Ons”, check on other rider riders, and send messages. Gotta be another explanation and solution to our problem. I keep thinking it’s because my Wi-Fi speed is too slow. Only about 4Mbs where I am and if something else is running it’s even less.
My internet is fast and I ride early in the morning while the family is still sleeping so no one else using internet. Downloads speeds are 140Mbs and upload speeds are 12Mbs. Still having the problem. I think there’s something to the fact that it only happens when running Zwift Companion. I’ll keep testing that theory though
