Ride not saved?

Hi there, I did a ride this morning as part of the Festive 500 and it hasn’t saved properly. I tried uploading the file directly but it’s coming up as ‘inProgressActivity’. Any advice welcome!

you can’t upload activities to Zwift, so where is it not showing saved properly? I see it in your list of activites as a 63.7 mile ride (I use imperial not metric) so it looks fine from what I can see.

Hi Mike, thanks for your reply. This ride appears in my activity feed, but when I click on it it says ‘oops! we hit a snag’. I can’t get any details and I can’t get access to the ‘fit.’ file. It hasn’t uploaded to Strava so won’t count towards the Festive 500 challenge. I had connectivity problems during the ride so am guessing the file might be incomplete.

The fitness file is likely saved locally, what device do you use for Zwift?

One of the options in this document might allow you to get the fit file (skip the first option)

Manual upload to Strava might then be possible. I don’t know if that affects Rapha 500 totals since I don’t use Strava.

I use my smartphone (android). I tried to access the file directly on the phone but it’s incomplete or corrupted. It appears as ‘inProgressActivity’.fit’ and only 2kb.

might be able to use fitfiletools.com to fix it?

Thanks Paul. I already tried to download the fit. file from my phone but no joy. Appreciate the advice though.

Will give this a go. Thanks!

Tried the fit files tool but it’s still reading as an empty file.

I’m in the same boat. Was at mile 51 on a robo ride. First all the other riders disappeared, then the pacer. Ride seemed to save correctly but it’s not been posted to Strava. Will wait a bit to see if this gets sorted, then work with the fit file if not.

That means you lost network connectivity to Zwift. Sometimes the ride (or part of it) will get automatically recovered when you do another ride. If that happens it will show up in your activity feed with a title like “Watopia” and nothing else.

Uggh. Thanks!

Thanks again, Paul. Looks like I got lucky. I opened another ride without pairing and trashed that, after which the first ride magically appeared.

Hi @Brian_Jarvis welcome to Zwift forums.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I looked at your server logs for clues, and this is happening because of simultaneous logins. You were logged in to the main app on both a Samsung Galaxy A52s phone and an Apple TV. Concurrent logins will cause a number of symptoms, and not getting credit for your rides is one of them.

To eliminate this risk, we recommend you uninstall the main Zwift app from every device expect the one you use to run the app.

@Peter_Starr
You’re indeed also in the same boat, with dual logins on an iPad and a Mac.

One other tip for both of you: if you prefer to run the game app on iOS / tvOS / Android, you should save-and-exit (or trash-and-exit) your ride, then force-quit the Zwift app rather than simply swiping the app into the background. Force-closing manually shuts down the app, rather than letting the OS wonder whether you want to foreground it anytime soon.

Hi Shuji,

Many thanks for the advice below - much appreciated.

Is there any way to log my 100km workout to Strava?

Best, Brian
