Hi, I have just performed an FTP ramp test in Zwift with a result of 256 watts (as I was no longer able to do the test effort, I clicked on the “I’m toast” button and the test ended). This figure was added automatically to my in-game zwift profile (under my profile).
I have refreshed my zwiftpower profile as well, but there I still see an old figure under “zFTP”. I have waited ca 30 minutes since the test, still no change.
Do you know what is causing this? Or am I misunderstanding something and the zFTP value will only refresh based on my previous races, but not based on a zwift FTP test?
Understood, in the meantime I saw some similar posts about this on the forum. I am not sure what is the logic behind zFTP and for not showing an FTP from a fresh ramp test, but who am I to judge the system..
zFTP is calculated from your history of efforts and from various time intervals. It’s a universal method applied to all Zwifters. From this standpoint, it’s the way that the same criteria can be used for everyone. It used to be used for race cateogory determination.
OTOH, the standard FTP tests are good, but probably at least 70% of the Zwift base has never taken one.
