FTP Ramp Test has not given me my updated FTP

I completed the ramp ftp test (increased 20W every 1 min), got to the I’m Toast and believe I clicked it. I was not given my new FTP!! Help please???

If you check in your profile settings in Zwift you will see the value Zwift has for your FTP. It’s possible you missed the prompt in the game, but perhaps it was set correctly…

Alternatively, do you know where you stopped? I believe the ramp tests takes the average power for your last minute of the test and multiplies it by 0.75, so if you know at which power level you stopped and about how far into that power level you got then you can calculate your FTP from that info. In that case you can do that math and update the FTP value in your settings so workouts work properly etc.

You are only given your new FTP, if its higher than your actual FTP.

That is also true and might be the case. That said, if your FTP has actually dropped, and Zwift didn’t set it as a result then you can calculate it based 0.75 times the last 1 minute power of the test they did.

It’s actually interesting they only update it if you have a higher FTP because it’s absolutely possible to drop FTP (I’ve definitely been there) and you will still want to have your current workouts reflect your current FTP, not your older, higher FTP. They should probably give you an option to update or keep your older, higher FTP in that case, or take the newer one.

FTP was 255 vs last 217 when I went to amend my FTP on Zwift. I must have missed the FTP popping up on the ramp test at the end! My manual calculation is 242 which I will run with for the moment.

I missed it popping up at the end of the test!

Another way to approach it is to sync all of your ride data to intervals.icu and look at the FTP estimates that it provides

Regardless of FTP calculations intervals.icu is amazing, so if you like data you should definitely sync your data to intervals.icu.

Hi @M_MATHIAS welcome to Zwift forums.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. This is a two and a half part answer.

  1. Your server logs recorded that you set a new FTP today (congratulations!) and that new number should be set in game. Please verify that when you get a chance, and if the difficult blocks in your structure workout still feel too easy, you can manually increase the FTP number.

  2. Why you didn’t see a banner in the game noting this as a memorable moment is because you were logged in to the Zwift app on both an iPhone 14 and an iPad 14. Simultaneous logins cause problems like this, and we urge you to uninstall the main Zwift app from whichever one is not your preferred Zwifting computer.

2.5 In addition to logging out of sessions by saving-and-exiting (or trashing-and-exiting), it’s a good idea to force-quit the Zwift app to stop it completely from running on a mobile device. Here’s how. If you’re in the habit of swiping the app into the background, that’s not the same thing.
