Hi
I’m back with Zwift after my fist encounter approximately 10 years ago.
In general Zwift has improved and seems to be predictable when it come to startup watts and not having to pump thorough what seems like 1,000watts.
My question is went I do a ramp test in ERG mode, the first 5 minutes free ride segment of the FTP test is at some ridiculously high wattage making it impossible the get into the ramp test proper at anything above 50rpm and by the time I get into the actual fist step which is at a vastly lower wattage I’m already spent.
Why is the free ride wattage so high and if I reduce the percentage it changes the entire FTP test but the power requirement for the free ride seems to be maxed out.
Is this a bug? How can it get the free ride segment to be at a reasonable wattage?
Why can’t the power start off low a ramp up to a suitable wattage instead of starting maxed out and then dropping down. I just isn’t how it is in real life where you start in a manageable gear and as you spin up you move into higher wattage gearing. This is the same problem I had with Zwift many years ago and makes using Zwift unattractive
