we right for not only physical health but mental. It’s well documented that vitamin G (greenery) lifts mood, therefore why oh why are we forced to ride in urban rainy environment. Come on ZHQ, let’s Ride On in a mood enhanced environment.
Sorry but I think the rain and the odd thunder storm is great, its no different from the dust being kicked up on the gravel or the snow drifts moving across the Alps on a climb. Zwift could obviously improve the rain even further on the Volcano circuit because the rain hitting the lava could turn to steam so a bit like the fog I have seen in Scotland I think it was. If your not enjoying this type of thing you need a bigger screen and a better GPU, I’m all for variation in the ride, its what makes Zwift an immersive experience.
That’s all quite funny actually, with all the other problems Zwift has that need sorting, all that people seem to notice and complain about is the virtual weather.
The in-game weather doesn’t bug me but it does seem like doing some work to allow people to express their preferences might be worthwhile to make customers happy. There’s no point in my telling people not to care about whatever they care about. The game knows how to turn these things on and off already, so offering a setting to suppress the day/night cycle or rain seems feasible.
The only reason to make it optional is to reduce the GPU grunt you need when people are trying to run it on low end hardware and the likes of Apple TV.
What would Scotland or the London routes look like without rain. Zwift wants you to get the feeling of the real world as close as possible. But the rainbows are missing.
Sunshine all day long, and you end up with a virtual sun cancer. This would make lots of folks even more unhappy
