Pedal came off the right crank

I have been cycling for 15 years, but this is an absolute first. After 50 virtual km, the right pedal eventually came off the right crank. The thread is gone. The bike is unusable. I wrote to customer service three days ago, but no word from them yet. And no number I can call. The Zwift Ride in question was and indeed still is brand new. Help?

Sorry to see this. I recommend you just sit tight and wait for Zwift support to respond, as frustrating as the wait might be. Hopefully someone from support might see your post here and speed things up.

Thanks Steve! They got back to me, they will replace the frame.

Had this exact thing happen about 20 minutes ago. It was my 3rd total ride. I just put in a support ticket.

Thanks for posting this!

Same happened to me. Recently bought a brand new zwift bike and after 3rd ride the right pedal came off. Was able to re-install it but after 40 minutes it fell off again. Unfortunately I noticed the screw thread in the crank is gone.

I wrote the support an email and am hoping for a reply.

They sent me a new bike within around 1 week time frame. This one seems to be working without issue. Hope you get a quick turnaround!

Thanks for the info Jeremiah. Good to hear that it worked out well.

I am still waiting for a reply. :crossed_fingers:

Hi @Tom_Van_den_Eede,

Ride On.

 I just set mine up. I ordered the bear paw cranks too. I hope they last longer. I think it was the original Kickr Bike that had similar cranks and had an issue where they would fracture where the pedals were installed. Hoping for the best. I’ll keep an eye on the cranks for sure…

Oh, the cranks are aluminum? Okay, that could explain part of the issue, although the threads seemed solid when I installed the pedals. (Should we use anti-seize instead of grease?)

In the meantime I received a new frame. I really appreciate the great service by Zwift and am happy to start riding again. :+1:
