Can anyone confirm that if I want to pause my account for the summer I actually Cancel it and then re-register with the same email address in the Fall? I am ready to ride on the road again and won’t be hauling my bike up and down from the cellar.

Yep, a lot of Zwifters cancel/pause there subscriptions during the summer and pick right backup where they left off when they come back. You will not lose any XP, Drops, Levels or Equipment as long as you use the same email address.
Yes, you can pause it by changing the payment options. Even when you pause, they still let you ride 25km/month! You won’t lose any information and you can just start paying again in the fall.
