Pairing zwift click and wahoo kicker v6

I just upgraded my Kicker from v5 to v6. I am using a windows desktop PC with several Bluetooth devices near to the kicker. I am using an elite steering device with a Bluetooth connection. I am connected to the Wahoo via wifi. I can get the click to connect but it drops out. The elite also has issues connecting if I try connecting both. Only one will pair at a time. If I unpair the elite the click drops out quickly (minutes after I start) and the elite connects even though I unpaired it. I am confused you would expect I could connect both devices as I have plenty of BT bandwith.

I have a Zwift play coming. But that’s not the issue now. I am planning to have surgery on my right hand and am trying to set up Zwift click for use on TT bars while I heal.

Is it the elite that is causing the issues? I read somewhere here I need the trainer hooked up to Bluetooth, which seems ridiculous to me.

Virtual shifting will work via WiFi connectivity. It will not work when paired via ANT+ which does not sound like a factor in your situation.

I would be looking at the Bluetooth adapter in your PC, and possibly other sources of Bluetooth radio interference in your environment. A lot of PCs have rubbish Bluetooth performance but putting a well tested USB Bluetooth dongle on an extension cable will often resolve those issues. If you want to establish whether some specific device like an Elite Sterzo/Rizer is causing problems (which it should not) I would make sure it’s fully powered off, unplugged or batteries removed.

How was all of this working when you were using the V5? Was the Elite steering device in use then as well?

Hi @George_Brown

Welcome to the forums! I’m Haziel from Zwift, and I truly understand how it can be when you’re trying to make the virtual shift work on your trainer and run into issues. I’m here to help you through it.

After looking over your account, I noticed some Bluetooth disconnections that could be contributing to your troubles. I recommend checking out this article on BLE or ANT+ troubleshooting, which includes some helpful steps that could resolve the issue.

I also saw that your Click is running a previous version. It might help to updating the Zwift click, then take it for a free ride to see if things improve. Additionally, please ensure that the virtual shifting is enabled in your settings

No i did not try on the V5 as it was deemed not compatable. I assume the software will not accept these virtual shift commands.

I updated the click firmware and stioll had the same issue. I finally unplugged all 3 of my USB and 1 ANT +ant dongle and got the Click to properly connect. Your thoughs of too much bluetooth noise was correct.

However the Elite stearing is still an issue even though i will be replacing it withe the play soon.

Thanks for the reply. I dont know why Zwift shows bluetooth as the only connection method as wifi works fine with the click?

I think Zwift should figure out that a trainer specfic troubleshooting guide would be better than trying to sort through their pages of troubleshooting where all devices are listed.
