Hi, I have a kickr core one, set up with a zwift click and cog. I have tried connecting Zwift on my phone through Bluetooth and on my laptop through Bluetooth and Ant+ dongle. Always the same result - connects but no watts. The rider just doesn’t move. The kickr is fine in the Wahoo app but not in Zwift.
Hello mate, I’m on the free trial at the moment. So the only way is through Bluetooth? I’ve tried everything, just won’t move the rider. I even took the trainer off the Wahoo app, uninstalled the Wahoo app. Could it be Garmin connect which is on my phone or the Garmin forerunner on my wrist?
Even if you don’t have a subscription, you should see watts on the pairing screen in Zwift.
Since the trainer works in the Wahoo app, that’s a good sign that the trainer is OK.
Virtual shifting won’t work with ANT+, but you should still see watts and your avatar should move if you pair via ANT+. You would just be riding a single-speed bike. So that is still a valid test, just not a way to have a good ride.
Wahoo has two versions of the Kickr Core, so if you have the original one (legs are round) then Bluetooth and ANT+ are the only options, though if you run Zwift on the laptop you could also pair it via the Companion app on the phone.
If you have the Kickr Core 2, you could also pair the trainer via WiFi which would be another thing to test.
You can’t pair via the Companion app when you are running Zwift on the same device, so you would not be able to use that pairing method when running Zwift on the phone unless you have another phone or tablet for Companion.
If you see power in the Wahoo app, then your connections should be fine. The free trials changed so I think the 25km cap was dropped in favour of the 14 day trial period, which would then roll over into a paid sub. You shouldn’t then get a dead period between using the 25k and the paid sub starting. Unless someone didn’t think that through and the 25km still stands.
I have the kickr core. Just checked and speed is showing in the Wahoo app but cadence etc isn’t. Odd as it was showing when I had a 10 speed cassette on it.
Assuming the firmware on the trainer is up to date and you have unplugged it and plugged it back in, the next step would be to contact support. That could be Zwift or Wahoo’s support service.
There are two different versions of the Kickr Core so I still don’t know which trainer you own, but Zwift and Wahoo support should be able to tell easily.
If it affects all software that you try to use with the trainer, then working with Wahoo is the right way. If they offer a useful solution I hope you’ll come back and share it.
