Kickr core not transmitting power/cadence

Just purchased a new Zwift Ride, which seems very cool. But after one day the Kickr core is no longer transmitting information to Zwift, nor the Wahoo app. Bluetooth recognizes, I upgraded the Core firmware. But hard reboots, only running one bluetooth app at a time (Zwift or Wahoo app alone) and still it won’t register power or cadence. So my avatar won’t move; if I’m only on Wahoo app the power/cadence/distance won’t register even though it does indeed connect to the device (by bluetooth). Very frustrating after only owning for a day. I’ve searched the pages here and tried all the usual stuff (hard reboot, firmware update, etc) and I have a ticket out to Wahoo but if anyone has a quick/easy solution I’m all ears. Thanks

Hi @Jim_Levine_DIRT, this is Monica from Zwift. I truly empathize with the frustration you’re experiencing regarding the power, cadence, and distance readings on your Wahoo Kickr Core. It’s never easy to deal with technical issues, especially when they disrupt your training. After reviewing your account, I noticed that there seems to be a problem with the Bluetooth connection of your trainer.

To help resolve this, I recommend resetting your game preferences by following the steps outlined in the article I’ve linked. Once you’ve done that, please try pairing your Wahoo Kickr Core again via Bluetooth. It would also be beneficial to consult the BLE and ANT+ Interference Troubleshooting Tips to ensure there are no external factors affecting the connection.

If you continue to face difficulties after trying these steps, and considering you’ve already reached out to Wahoo with no resolution in the Wahoo App, it may indicate a potential hardware issue. I hope these steps are beneficial to you.

Monica, that didn’t work and I’m not surprised it didn’t work. You say in reviewing my account I have a problem with Bluetooth connect, but I don’t. Zwift sees the kickr core and connects to it on startup. But when I pedal, no power/cadence is read and the avatar doesn’t move. I’ve removed the kickr per the article you reference and no difference. But again, I’m not surprised because if I try the Wahoo app it doesn’t register the Core unit either, so this is NOT isolate to Zwift. So not sure why you suggest I have a bluetooth issue? Regardless, this is disappointing that I was shipped a faulty unit as part of my Zwift Ride package. What recourse do I have from here?

Contact Wahoo support. They are pretty good about it.

@MonicaP I sent my Wahoo Kickr back to Wahoo, not releasing I also sent back the thru axel that comes with the Zwift Ride. I have my new kickr core but cannot mount the Zwift Ride since I know have no Thru Axel. Help! How can I get a new one?
