My 2024 Wahoo Kickr Core is connecting to Zwift for resistance only. But it will not read cadence or power. I am trying to do this using the Companion app on an iPhone.
I have done a power calibration via the Wahoo app, and deleted and re-installed both the Wahoo and Zwift apps on both devices several times to no avail.
Wahoo customer support confirm it’s not a hardware issue, as the Kickr is working with the Wahoo app and indeed with rivals to Zwift perfectly (Indievelo).
Unfortunately nothing yet has solved the issue. Can anyone advise? Getting through to a Zwift Ambassador seems to lead me into a chatbot loop.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I do see what you’re saying - that the Core’s resistance signal is bridged using the Zwift Companion app. The trainer is not paired directly to the main Zwift app, in other words.
You’re doing the right troubleshooting steps, but this part is suggests you might have another app hijacking the power signal.
Please power off the devices that you have IndieVelo and the Wahoo app installed on so they can’t interfere. Another known culprit is the Garmin Connect app. If any of those are installed on devices in the house - please power off those devices.
Power cycle your Wahoo as well as your iPhone running the Companion app.
Power cycle your Windows PC.
Launch Zwift.
Then: Pair to Power > Resistance > Cadence signals in that order, followed by Controller and Heart Rate Monitor in that sequence.
Does that solve it? Please show us screenshots of what you’re seeing in the pairing screen if no.
