New to Zwift, pc always crashing

Hi there, I am new to Zwift and my PC always crashes. I even put the resolution to 720p. It only worked 1 time without crashing. I just realized that in images/zwift folder, there are screenshots of my rides even though I disabled screenshots.

I just installed a new version of windows 11 and I installed the latest up to date AMD drivers after using DDU.

In the log file, it says this:

The Zwift app crashes, or the PC crashes? If the PC crashes then you need to investigate what’s wrong with the PC.

The computer screen becomes one colour and I need to reboot but since I play full window mode, I can’t know if it’s zwift or the pc…

They have an Intel CPU so aren’t using AMD integrated graphics, so this doesn’t seem to be the same problem.

I will try using my igpu (intel) only and see if the problem occurs.

This is Haziel, part of the Zwift Support, many times crashes and freezes can be caused by out-of-date graphics drivers.

Could you please confirm that your device is running the latest Operating System, Graphics Drivers, and Zwift App version?

Hi @Haziel_P ,

I have the latest version of windows 11 updated through Windows update. I have Zwiftapp’s latest version. To make sure, I uninstalled it and redownloaded and installed again.

I also have the latest amd drivers from my Rx580 offered on the website.

So this happened today:

  1. Radeon Rx580, 720p, windows defender off, one drive uninstalled : crashed on the start menu while I was switching clothes

  2. Radeon Rx580, 720p, windows defender off, one drive uninstalled: crashed at 3km off the end of Makuri Islands

When it crash, the monitor becomes gray and there is nothing I can do but to reboot the pc.

The other day, I used my igpu (skylake) and it ran without issues.

UPDATE:

I searched the web and found out a lot owners of my AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB MSI ARMOR OC suffered from wrong “base” values and it would make the card crash. As suggested on forums, I underclocked the base value by GPU Tuning by 8% and I experimented no crash for a hour long training program.

I will be riding for 1h30-2h today in 1440p and report back if there is any crashes. Fingers crossed.
