New Samsung S10FE tablet, Zwift asking for location?

I had to upgrade my tablet as my prior Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 died. Got a S10 FE and Zwift is giving me problems. It will not pair up with my Tacx Neo 2T:

The Zwift app does have location turned on:

Never saw any such issue with my last tablet.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what the error is here???

It seems you must switch location on in your tablet’s settings. It was usual for Bluetooth connection (for some devices) some years ago, shouldn’t be now. My Pixel phone with Android 14 doesn’t need it.

Hi @J_Roiter_TT1D_R3_D_D

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Weird! It does look like you have given it permissions it needs. Maybe try uninstalling / reinstalling Zwift, and say yes to all the prompts when they pop up again?

We have had reports from Samsung A-series tablet users with related symptoms that have been challenging to solve. If the Samsung S10 FE shares the same Bluetooth radio chipset spec as the A-series, we think we have a solution for that issue in the next release cycle (not this week’s release that we just started today, but the one following). Let’s loop back to this thread then, and in the meantime, would you mind using your PC?

@Milan_Rost you were correct, and this solved the problem.

This new tablet had to be setup manually, as my previous tablet completely died and I could not use the setup wizard to copy everything from the old tablet. The manual setup had a small number of steps. I assumed that location and many other data collection items were turned on by default as Google is a data mining company.

But the top level location toggle was turned off. Once I turned it on, Zwift paired up with the trainer, HR monitor and cadence sensor. So now I am functional with the new tablet. Only problem I seem to have now is that using the screengrab tool in Zwift records images that are black-no actual image is saved. Under apps, the Zwift app does not have an option to grant it rights to the Samsung Gallery, nor does the Gallery app have a permission to share with Zwift.

Yes, it is. But this time it’s not Google, it’s Samsung (that’s why I wrote my Google Pixel 5 phone doesn’t need location on for Bluetooth connection).
