New Halo Bikes, New Drop Shop Bikes [March 2025]

I would be happy with this. I soft pedalled down the Alpe yesterday - want to unlock my Factory tour socks!!! Zero power should mean zero gains. If that means coasting down the Alpe and coffee breaks don’t count that’s fine by me!

If a person did pedal up then why would they not be able to coast down the hill and make progress on distance? You can do that IRL, so I don’t see an issue there. The issue is if people teleport up and then get miles from doing nothing.

Good. This took us what ? Ten minutes to come up with a solution.

Stop the timer when not moving on a TT bike
Make update frame counters only work when there is a trainer paired and the power is more than zero.

See, its not that hard

You really need to up your games, then, Cat, to keep up with the likes of this young lady! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Well yeah, I think the straightforward math on this is that for any Zwift route that is a loop, half the distance wouldn’t count.

I know who exactly who that is. THIS. THIS. THIS. Just why? 3476km in last 7 days. THIS.

Than there is one other solution. Completly remove teleporting from the game.

Just keep it to the Robo Pacers maybe?

You havent seen the people teleporting to Big Mic and rolling the road after the pedal assist has ended and preferably using a coffee break to get even more miles ?
That was the trick used the most before the hill teleport came into play.

Oh I have seen it!!! So they get a max of 3 or so minutes of free kms. Ok so not great but not the same league as 1000’s of KMs not pedalling.

That could work, because the robopacers don’t go near mountains these days. That disappeared when Anquetil mysteriously vanished.

But people still want to join their friends. So maybe limit it to no teleporting on descents or at top of climbs.

But how many would be affected that they can not teleport to friends anymore ?

90% of the Zwift users dont race so they dont care if you have a level 5 upgraded Canyon or a Halo bike.
5% of the 10% left has no clue this is even a thing since they dont read FB, Forum or Zwift Insider.
3% out of the 5% left is doing it so wont want it to stop.
1% out of the 2% left is really bothered by it.

But fixing the teleporting if affecting 99% of their paying users. It a thing that gets forgotten a lot, but it is for sure something Zwift will think about, certainly their CFO.

IMHO

Teleporting should stay.

Stop the continuation of the problem by making gains linked to having some power like factory tour

What to do about those have “gained” without riding…… over to Zwift

Best option I can come up wit is that they should have invented a new kind of drops. Lets call them upgrade drops which you accumulate just like the normal drops and are needed before you can upgrade a frame with your normal drops.

First upgrade on a frame cost 200k drops, get 200k of those upgrade drops first, so we can get rid of the climbing, time and distance things which can be loopholed no matter what.

Why can’t there be an equation of something like power equal to height and distance.

So if there is no power up to that height, you gain no distance coming down like teleporting or coffee break.

It’s solvable. Downhill distance can only be 125% of uphill.

This seems the most obvious and doable solution. Zwift just came up with their Wh/kg thing to solve for this latest challenge, and that was only so you can earn some socks. Make each upgrade available at 4,000 kJ or whatever.

Kilojoules is weight based so would need adapting or would favour heavier riders. I burn a lot less calories for a way harder effort than my other half who weighs almost 30Kg more than me

I don’t think so.. kJ seems to be nothing but watts x time (in seconds) divided by 1000

100 watts for 10 seconds = 1 kj

So would favour heavier riders with more KJ!
