Cannondale R4000 Roller Blade

Its monocoque carbon frame is built for aerodynamics, while the unique handlebars steer via cables when leaned, rather than turning. For climbing, the bars swing open for leverage. Now, Zwift riders can race this iconic piece of cycling history and innovation!

Lots to wrap one’s head around here. I can only hope that the Tron will end up as the best available bike given the requirement to upgrade three bikes that would otherwise never have any use. This is going to add a lot of engagement for the level 100s (or those nearly there). Especially if the halo bikes are more than a novelty.

Exactly.
The TRON cannot be upgraded directly?
That’s just crazy.

The rules/requirements sound like you have to stand on one foot, face west, and whistle while chewing gum just to get an upgrade.

Unlock requirements -
Sometimes it’s time?
Sometimes it’s elevation?
Sometimes it’s distance?

Overly complicated.

Do I read this correct that you have to follow the order in which to upgrade your bike ? So all frames start with the aero followed by weight, drivetrain, drops and xp ?

You can not start with drops or xp for instance ?

The FAQ says that not all frames will offer Drops and XP boosts.

You start at tier 1 and go through tier 5, and the upgrades will not be consistent across bikes

This is going to make performance inequality in most races, unlike the current Zwift Games, even worse.

Just like real life then. The simulation gets better

This forum: “Grr we want new features! Give us new features!”

Zwift: “Ok here are new features”

This forum: “No, not those! Horrible! Hate”

This is way too much for my liking :

’ Example: a maxed out TT frame compared to its un-upgraded version is about 45 seconds faster over an hour on flat roads, and 26 seconds faster on an hour of climbing. By contrast, a maxed out S-Works Aethos is about 21 seconds faster over an hour on flat roads, and 58 seconds faster on an hour of climbing, compared to its un-upgraded version.

Why should my Scott Addict be slower than yours over a race lap of Grand Central, if we put out the same numbers and are the same weight/height, simply because I’ve only just bought mine and you’ve had yours for a while and have fully blinged out the upgrades?

Why should I at level 61 be able to use a fully blinged up S-Works Venge in a Tiny Race on Tempus Fugit, against a Zwift newcomer in my pen, using a Zwift Aero frame at best?

Neither scenario is right.

Do we all start at zero or does the history of us ridden the frames also gets counted ?

Start at zero

I was afraid of that. Well guess we will see a lot of people using bots to gain an advantage quicker.

Maybe we will see more bike neutralized races? Or at least an option of that for race organizers?

Why should some users get a head start towards blinging up thier bikes ahead of others, due to luck of when they receive the 1.86 update?

@Oliver_ZRace_Central I hope so! That’s one thing I’ve really liked about the Zwift Games races - no need to stress about which bike to use.

I absolutely love the ability to customize my bike’s. Gives me something to work for. But if I have a choice between racing with custom bikes and Neutralized bikes. I will choose Neutralized every time
