for time, but lighter riders can ride longer?
Can they?
The factory tour was designed on WKG as units not watts to make it fairer
Well you seem to ride a lot more than I do ![]()
Thatās a mindset ! Not my weight that decides how much I do! ![]()
fair enough.. then kJ/kg
eg.
4000/100 = 40 kJ/kg
2000/50 = 40 kJ/kg
Hereās my best solution: KMs donāt count toward bike upgrades for N kms after you teleport. Say, 10kms. You have to ride for 10kms after you teleport, and then the kms will start to count again.
Add in an exemption for teleporting to robopacers (because teleporting between pacer groups is a good over/under workout)ākms would count right away in that case.
I donāt think thatās hard to understand, and (laughing) shouldnāt be hard to program.
EDIT: and maybe donāt start the km counting until pedal assist has ended. Otherwise there would be hundreds of people teleporting every 10 seconds between pacers ![]()
I dont think it does at the moment.
Yes that is correct. Pedal assist - no accruing KMs / elevation.
This is unnecessary.
There are simple solutions;
- Ban the top 10 worst offenders
- Make the person being joined verify that you can
If you want to get creative, then require power to be connected to accrue KMs. That would at least stop the guy doing this from the couch.
If you want to be complicated and maybe have a knock on amount of code⦠make the downhill and uphill match within 125% tolerance. Zwift knows negative elevation already so just do a comparison at the end and undo the progress if itās out.
None of the above will impact anyone genuinely riding with friends.
I have my doubts about that one. Also about the other but thats a dead end I think.
There are huge amounts of people not even riding with the companion app or zwift play. If they have to verify if a friend would join them it is going to be a pain. If I dont use the CA while riding I would have to get off my bike to reach my keyboard.
And it wont help anyway cause it will be just a click of they are doing it in groups. This wont stop them, but will make it harder for the casual users.
I wouldnāt banā¦start them over at L1 and 0 drops/XP. Teams that exploit as a group should be banned.
It is worth noting that at least three people have been temporarily banned for this so far.
I could work up a list of 3 teams and 100 riders to take action against in about 20 minutes without access to zwift logs. I can tag that list with weight/height change and āno powerā for the silliest examples.
TOS says that virtual items can be removed.
I think the key here is that we donāt want Zwift to overreact and ruin things for the normal folks, but if they could stop people doing stupid stuff to get a moderate benefit in a TTT or community race⦠that would be great.
I would settle for them having to race in a clown costume.
And all this becaue no one at Zwift HQ thought this through and could come up with the idea that people would be using a game mechanic that is in the game and legal for over 2 years already.
Or⦠they did think it through and think it is ok.
We dont know, since it has been quiet ever since this has started.
And all this for a marginal gain, that propably doesnt even matter in a race.
That was sort of my point, to not get creative or complicated
Make someone ride at least the distance equivalent to the Alpe descent before KMs accrue after any teleport (exception if you join a pacer). Simple rule. You could change it to the Ventop descent distance instead if thatās longer (canāt remember).
Part of my assumption here is that Zwift does not have the capacity of staffing to get too granular. So keeping it simple makes more sense to me.
I see where you are coming from but it likely just shifts the issue and it introduces a lot of code that could break + impacts others in a way they wouldnāt expect (creates support tickets).
Riders can also do many KMs downhill without going uphill without teleporting. Just need to start and restart on one of the downhill start routes (there are many).
So a more generic āif your descending elevation is way higher than ascending elevation you stop getting creditā. Is a simple calc outside the game that then applies to your upgrade distance.
I would so laugh if Zwift would come up with a fun punishment and have all those who change their weight to 400 or 900 kilo to even go faster downhill to be stuck at that weight for at least a month.
Or make the Avatar look like its 200kg so everyone can see a massive blob on a bike!
So, I just saw a comment from WTRL/Martin on Facebook saying thereād be an update this week potentially on solving the whole neutral frame situation.
Still though; if anyone from ZHQ is out there listeningā¦
give us a cool neutral frame that we can colorize!
Thatās not what neutralized bikes is.
They are just making it so the values associated with the bikes in an event are the same for all, regardless of the frame they choose to ride. So you can ride a BMX if you wantā¦
Itās a bug fix not a feature.
