Thanks for your reply! Who is us? Do you have a Zwift ID of the people who had this crash? That way it’s much easier to find and track the issue!
PS. Just like the above reply (by the_guaiwu): I read on Facebook group also that Carl-Johan Berletin (just like me and my TFC mates) all had the identical issue that the screen freezes, but the audio continues, and the companion app continues to work. So in other words: It’s the Zwift app that freezes the screen; while server connection etc. continues to work and power input continues to be processed.
Thanks, I think the last zwiftID is wrong though; this is from someone who never Zwifts; while the other two ID’s (yours and calico) are regular zwifters in the Ascender Team.
One more question: you have been on Zwift since 2017; did you ever this issue before?
I too recently have had my first ever complete crash of Zwift on my ATV. The app on the ATV completely froze, but data was still being recorded in the companion app, so fortunately a PB that I had recorded on a climb wasn’t lost - I finished the last 10km of my ride watching the data on the companion app, then quit the ride from there rather than the ATV.
I’ve put over 30,000km on Zwift over 5 years, and this is my first crash like this.
I wanted to report that this happened to me four times, the first time on 15 June on a course in New York in a Ladder club race, then in the first stage of the Sisu Tour in Makuri, in the sixth stage of the Sisu tour in France, and yesterday as soon as I entered the grid in the seventh stage of the Sisu tour, it was close to the start and fortunately I was able to connect with my mobile phone
Hey Stefano, thanks for sharing. I cannot find the Ladder Club race in your profile. Can you tell me more about that freeze? It would be the only June freeze so far of this kind.
Was the June 15th freeze also similar to the other freezes; that the audio continued in the Zwift application and you were able to continue by connecting the companion app?
The screen froze after 200 metres of the race, for the audio I can’t tell you because I listen to music, I continued a bit more with Companion but then I gave up, the races where I had problems are not in my Zwift power profile, the ones you see are races I finished because I repeated them
One was on Thursday. I immediately tried switching all settings again:
Windowed → Full screen
Holoreplay → Disabled
Leaderboards → Disabled
And today in Full screen mode, again crash… as always:
Sounds continue on PC,
connection with internet continues (can see that on Companion app),
power registration and heart rate monitor continues (can see that on Companion app)
screen on PC frozen
I finished the ride on my Companion app…
It’s very disappointing to have these crashes so often, after having been able to ride on Zwift 3+ years without any crashes on the same hardware, same software… until early July 2023.
Is someone at Zwift still working on this? @evan-zwift ; you once gave this topic an Zwift-engine tag 649
Interesting detail! In the saved ride it also included an automatic screenshot from the ride after it crashed. First time I noticed this, but one more proof that the PC application does not crash but keeps on running all the time… It’s just not generating graphics anymore…
