macOS problems with new update? [1.13.0] [May 19 2021] [SOLVED]

Continue the problem in Mac

Any ETA on a fix? Erased, reinstalled, tried all the voodoo several times. No luck. On a MacBook Pro running Sierra. Expecting to ride a new world instead of not being able to ride ANY world. C’mon, we’re paying for a service that’s not being provided!

same issue for me

Hey everyone I have been in contact with Zwift tech support. Obviously they’re scrambling. But the person told me they hope to have a fix soon (I know, I know) and that once they do all we’ll have to do is download the app again. I’ll add more when I know more.
On the plus side, I did get outside for a ride tonight. I’d forgotten how much I loved it.

Same here with my Macbook Pro. Very frustrated after reinstalling, restarting, switching to a different Mac, and nothing. Anyway, hoping to see this issue fix soon.

I have the same issue. Click “let’s go” and then it crashes. Hoping to get a fix soon.

Fortunately, I can use my wife’s computer. It is a newer Mac and I confirmed it could connect to Zwift. So, I am clearing out old files on my Mac to maybe upgrade to MacOS11, but I am on the tail end of what hardware is able to do so. Perfect excuse for a new computer, right?

Hi Zwift Elves…this is happening for me but not Mitch. Hoping the reload works…soldier on speedy-ones. It feels very uncomfortable not having the app on the list… just going to sit with that for a few minutes and remember life before Zwift…yep…that’s enough :^)

Ouch… now there’s nothing after the first screen… thank god it’s Friday and we have a table booked at the pub…keep at it Elves.

No issues for me, update works just fine, I’ve not had to do anything.

MacBook Pro 2015 running current Big Sur updates.
I know a lot of people are blaming the DEVS for not testing properly but lets be honest, why would they test on on older versions of MAC OS, more so anything older than Catalina that was 10.15, the current OS is now on 11

Some of you are running High Sierra, there’s been at least 4 major MAC OS updates since that release.

No Issues for me, running an older Macbook from 2015 but on the latest macOS 11.x

I can confirm that Zwift runs on Big Sur (Macbook Pro). However, on an old Macbook Air running MacOS Sierra, Zwift is still not working.

Same issue here. Initially, it would say there was an issue in contacting the server. I tried to uninstall n then reinstall. Now the moment i click on the launcher, the screen appears for login and then it just vanishes. Using MacBook Pro with High Sierra OS

Zwift advertises a minimum specification and enters into a contract based upon that minimum spec. Why would they not test it on all operating systems that they claim their product works on?

Big Sur has well documented conflicts with numerous software packages that I rely on to make a living, so moving to Big Sur is not an option for me.

I have this issue. But I got in yesterday - by re-installing on a PC. However, today I went back in and it says preparing to update again. Yet it won’t do anything. There is some patch error and now I’m stuck.

I have the same issue in Windows 10 I have updated Internet explorer, cleared cache, uninstalled and deleted all zwift files, folders etc and reinstalled still click let’s go and get zift has encountered and error try restarting.

Still having problems on Mac air with Zwift not launching app from welcome screen ? Any updates as been off over 48 hours now and I’ve cleared trash re loaded App and re booted ?? Very frustrating when I need it due to weather and it’s not available

Unfortunately I am running an old MacBook Pro on El Capitan so I’m unable to upgrade/update to a different OS. I’ve been running Zwift fine until I did the Zwift update yesterday now it just crashes like everyone else. Very frustrating as I’ve paid money out for computer items in order for me to be able to run Zwift with my Proform TDF, now it’s useless. I really hope a solution is found

Because like all DEVS they expect the end users to update tech as tech advances, I was pretty annoyed when macOS stopped supporting 32bit applications when Catalina arrived but it’s no big deal, it’s expected. Zwift have 2 options, they either keep testing for old obsolete versions that maybe only 10% of their users are using or they slowly fade those options out and move forward to what 90% of their users are using. From a business model it makes more sense to keep the latter happy.

If that is true, and it does make sense, then they need to just say so. My computer may be 6 years old, but has run just fine. Only now am I starting to see software compatibility issues.

I think the majority of users having issues are on older MacBook’s running older macOS platforms
