Hi All, I am extremely frustrated by this issue as my 2020 Macbook Pro i5 is my most convenient way to getting on Zwift. Hopefully Zwift will sort this issue soon as like many have said, it’s been 5 months now, come on guys!!
It may be of interest to some of you, as a temporary work around, I have been running Zwift on my iphone and screen mirroring to the Mac. Not ideal as you can’t then use the companion app but certainly better than working out with a tiny phone screen or borrowing the kids ipads!
I offered them to gather any information they wanted using Apple Instruments and they sent me the reply I posted yesterday on this thread.
Today Zwift crashed “sporadically” again… it crashed 2 times out of 3. First ride at PRL Full crashed, second ride at Jungle Circuit crashed, third ride at Hilly Route was successful.
I suggest everybody to keep sending the crash/spin reports and logs to them every time Zwift crashes.
For Mac OS crash/spin reports, go to Console, right click on a report and click “Reveal in Finder”. There you can find the crash reports (.ips) and spin reports (.spin).
Below is the reply I received from Zwift support today:

Hi Ronie,
My name is Steven with Zwift support and thanks for checking in!
I get how persistent technical issues can be a major source of frustration and I appreciate that you’ve tried to keep us in the loop regarding the recent app crashes on your Mac.
The circumstances remain the same as when my colleague Katrina informed you about this known issue (e.g., game bug) on March 6, 2022. We have all the information we need at this time and as things currently stand, the issue has been assigned to Zwift’s developers for a future fix. I’ve flagged up the issue to the dev team and asked that they escalate the issue so as to get it resolved as soon as possible.
We also understand if you’re not keen on waiting for a fix, so check out our article for a list of other platforms we support (e.g. Zwift on Android, iOS, Apple TV, or a computer that utilizes a more powerful NVIDIA or AMD graphics card), and see if you have any devices that would meet those specifications.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue improving Zwift. Please let us know if there’s anything else that you need assistance with; we’re always happy to help!

I love how they used the canned text of “use a device with a more powerful graphics card”… yet my AppleTV has a far less powerful graphic card than my Mac. It is 100% to do with their software not working with the new Monterey OS and nothing to do with the graphics card.
I’ve been having this issue since I updated to Monterey several months ago, relieved to know I’m not the only one but incredibly frustrated to know that it’s been an issue for months and has not yet been fixed. Had 4 crashes today anywhere from just after open to 30 minutes into a ride, the game is borderline unusable to me at this point.
Getting very close to cancelling my subscription unless Zwift can fix this bug.
It’s been 3 months since I was last able to use my lovely new MacBook Pro. I bought it purely to Zwift with. I now have a £2000 paper weight gathering dust. This is just immensely frustrating. I have emailed Zwift support for an update and I am just ignored. I have been using my old 2014 MacBook Pro which has terrible stuttering graphics. I have been quiet and patient for 3+ months.
This isn’t to defend Zwift at all but spending £2,000 on a device purely for Zwift is bonkers. For that device to be a laptop is even more bonkers, and for it to be a Mac is…
If you can still return it, you should do so. I could build you a maxed out PC with brand new modern parts for less a third of the price, that’ll absolutely annihilate it in every single aspect imaginable. 4K, Ultra profile, 60fps. You could add a 50in screen and still be under half the price. Alternatively, to merely match/better the MBP with used parts would cost about a tenth of the price.
That’s a new issue, this thread is from October and relates to MacOS. I didn’t imply PC’s are immune to anything, it was a comment on the huge amount of money spent on an unsuitable device.
I’ve had the same problem. Zwift worked well until updating to MacOS 12.2.1 I believe it was. After that Zwift wouldn’t open anymore: Launcher log said: No VerCur Override Found.
I’ve tried deleting all Zwift files and reinstalling it, didn’t work.
What worked for me was turning off Apple’s iCloud Private Relay. It seems that this was blocking some kind of connection to Zwift.
Really sad there are no more updates on this. I’ve had to start using Zwift on an old iPad I had lying around. Getting pretty close to cancelling if a change isn’t made soon, it cannot be that hard to fix the bug that is causing this to happen. Do not know what Zwift engineering team is doing…
Would it be possible to run Zwift on an iPhone or iPad and mirror to a iMac desktop? My thinking is that you would be using iOS as the operating system rather than OS and mirroring to the iMAC being used as a dumb terminal. My assumption is that Monterey would be irrelevant but I’m not an expert although the issue is important to me since I’m considering the Bowflex C6 and would like to use an old (2015) iMac for viewing. Instructions for mirroring can be found on the Internet.
in summary, there has been a problem with Zwift and MacOS for months and nobody from Zwift feels responsible for it.
The communication towards the users/customers from Zwift Support is also very modest. That’s too bad.
I would like to remind you that we pay our contribution month after month and are now finally waiting for a solution.
Hence my question, when will someone from Zwift Support finally take care of the problem?
@shooj Any updates anyone can offer on this? Its wild that this is still a known problem and hasn’t been fixed. My Zwift subscription is paused but the pause period expires in a couple weeks and I would like to start using Zwift again but if this still isn’t fixed I’ll have no choice but to cancel.
