Hi, I’ve recently change my trainer to a kickr bike shift. The bike pairs fine but there’s no in game resistance coming through even though it’s paired on the pairing screen. I’ve done all the usual things, off and on, making sure it’s not connected to any other apps, trainer difficulty isn’t zero etc. Resistance works fine in other apps I’ve tried (Rouvy / Wahoo Systm) but not in zwift. Any ideas?
Hi @I_Kemp
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Pretty sure you meant to post from this account and not your child’s. Hopefully the email notification will get routed to your inbox correctly.
I looked at your server log history and seeing the KICKR Bike Shift is on firmware version
1.21.6, which is puzzling because according to Wahoo’s site, the latest version is 1.20.12?

Would you log in to the Wahoo app and verify that you’re on the latest (public) firmware build, and not an advanced beta?

Also looks like you might have been troubleshooting by comparing results on a Macbook Pro vs an iPhone 14. This can lead to concurrent logins where device 1 is already paired to the bike when you log in from device 2. To eliminate this as the suspect - we recommend you uninstall the Zwift main app from the phone (assuming you want to use the laptop as your Zwifting device).
Also make sure that Rouvy / SYSTM are not running and hijacking the bike’s Bluetooth signals.
Log out of Zwift on your laptop, then try again. With only one device logged in - does the resistance behave as it should?
Many thanks shuji, the firmware point is an interesting one. I’m not running an advanced beta to my knowledge, the app simply said a firmware update was available when I first set up the bike but I’ll investigate. Thanks for looking into it.
