Shuji at Zwift HQ here.
Would you look at the non-drive side of the trainer and verify which Volt model you own? The Volt v1 will not support virtual shifting.
Here’s the visual difference between the two generations:
Definitely! A Volt 2. Checked that before I bought cog.
V2 photo. Says V2 on box. I had jet black verify and send me a code.
My play controllers work with it I can shift up and down and feel resistance.
But my little man now doesn’t move. I’m using PC if that helps.
After you pair your trainer’s Power / Resistance / Cadence signals and also pair your Zwift Play controller - head to the game settings menu. How do you have these two set? See this article for more detail.
Virtual shifting: should be toggled ON. If this setting doesn’t appear at all - it’s because you must first have the trainer and shift controller paired as described above using Bluetooth (not ANT+)
Trainer Difficulty: this default position of this slider is right in the middle (50%).
Let me know if those two settings resolves this for you. If no:
I noticed you’re pairing your devices using Zwift Companion. What happens if you pair your devices directly to the main Zwift app? See this support article if you want details.
Those two settings are on and 50%. I don’t have blue tooth on my PC I have always connected it through the app.
The shiftting works it’s just the person not moving.
Very weird. Looking at your server logs - I’m not seeing any of the usual suspects that might cause your avatar to not move.
Can I ask for more detail about this? Most PC motherboards have had built-in Bluetooth LE support for more than a decade. Is the onboard Bluetooth modem busted on your computer?
It’s not in the same room as my trainer.
The computer on which you’re running Zwift isn’t in the same room as your trainer?
Yeah the computer is in a different room. So I use the app to connect.
If the computer is in a different room, on what are you watching Zwift? Is it possible that there’s just too much distance between your trainer and the computer for BLE to work properly? Or too much interference from other items?
It’s on a TV in my garage and computer is in the other room at the back on the home. I use cat 8 cable 2 KVM boxes. It works great.
Untill I updated my V2 volt to virtual shifting to use with my Zwift play and now the man doesn’t move.
We’re looking into it with our engineers @Justin_Page_Team_Veg. Appreciate your patience.
