From the zwiftinsider article:
JetBlack tells me, “We will be releasing virtual shifting on the Volt V2 in September to coincide with the availability of the Victory. Unfortunately, due to electronic technology, the V1 will not support virtual shifting.”
That is referring to September 2024. So if you’ve got the V2 it’ll work within a few weeks. If you’ve got the V1 it won’t.
thanks for answer, but unfortunately i don’t have Volt V2 and i’m stuck with V1 with wrong Freehub body and i can’t do anything with it…
By the way if you maybe know which freehub is compatible with volt1 for Shimano i would be veeery happy…
thanks for the answers
Hi @David_Lorencic, welcome to the forums!
I’m Fernanda from Zwift.
I couldn’t miss the chance to help you clarify your question. Unfortunately, @Tom_Shelton is right, and if the JetBlack Volt1 does not support virtual shifting software you won’t be able to upgrade with the Zwift Cog. However, if you decide to change to another trainer that does support virtual shifting in the future, the Zwift Cog is an excellent option to amplify the compatibility of your trainer with multiple bikes and use virtual shifting!
It is important to know that although it was initially designed for the Zwift Hub One trainer, we have increased our compatibility with other trainers! And we will continue to expand!
Ride On.
Thank you for the answer @FernandaA, but unfortunately i’m stuck with Volt1.
I hope you can answer me one more time… because the zwift hub one trainer is very simillar to JetBlack Volt1 is there a freehub body for Shimano 12-speed that would fit on Volt1?
Thanks again.
Which freehub body do you have now? Is it Hyperglide or XDR?
At the moment I have XDR, because before I had SRAM and now i’m back to Shimano… I tried to contact JetBlack but no answer from them.
Because the XDR freehub is now unavailable, there are occasional posts here from people looking for one. Perhaps you could arrange a swap. The Zwift Cog upgrade kit also comes with a Hyperglide freehub body for the Zwift Hub which I think is the same as Volt V2. I am unsure if that’s identical to the Volt V1 freehub but I suppose you could return it if it doesn’t fit. The Cog itself is just a Hyperglide cassette with one sprocket and can be removed from the freehub like any other cassette. There are also people who are buying that kit and installing the Cog on a Wahoo Kickr, which leaves them with an extra freehub body they will never use.
