I can't go back to riding after pause 4 out of 4 rides since last update

I’ve been using Zwift largely without problems for a while. (I’m level 46)
My last 4 rides have all refused to go back to riding after a pause. I have to start a new video sometimes.
Anyway, I think it’s since the latest update. I’m on a Mac Pro M2 and a Wahoo Kickr Core. I’m using Zwift companion on an iPhone.
Am I missing something?

Mark

how long of a break/pause are you taking?

30 seconds maybe.

Hi @Mark_Verbos

Please give us a little more information when you say “riding after pause.”
Do you mean you’re using Coffee Stop feature, or you get off the bike without that?

I’m looking at the server logs for your most recent sessions. You were using game version 1.86 on March 19. Your previous session on March 17 was done using version 1.85.0

When you say 4 out of 4 rides - do you mean:

  1. I log in, ride, have this issue, log out and repeat 4x.
    OR
  2. I log in, ride, have this issue, go back to HOME SCREEN, start another route, have this issue again, repeat 2x more, log out.

Hi Shuji,

When I say “riding after pause” I mean I’m doing a planned workout, I press pause on the companion app for 30 sec or a minute then un pause and I never get resistance or a power reading again. I try to go to the setup and reconnect to the trainer, click “connect with Bluetooth” restart the companion app, restart the phone. In the end I give up and end workout.

When I say 4 out of 4 rides I mean the ride on March 4th, March 13th, March 17th, March 19th.
My computer is on the network with ethernet and wifi, could this be the problem? Why did it just start being a problem? I have been using the same setup for years.

Today when I went to start a ride I was prompted to download an update. My ride was not interrupted, but I did not pause.

It happened again. Now I can’t even get Zwift to work again. It pairs with the Kickr Core, but doesn’t read any power or make any resistance.

Perhaps this workaround will help?

But it worked for 5 years? I checked and sadly the wheel size is correct.
Would throwing out the app and reinstalling help?

Mark

You should try changing the wheel size and see if it helps. Then change it back if you want. If it doesn’t help then the problem is something else. That issue is clearly some kind of bug but trying the workaround only takes a few seconds so you may as well check if what you’re experiencing is the same problem. If the trainer is running old firmware it should also be updated.

So, I deleted the app and reinstalled. I restarted multiple times. I restarted my phone. I changed the wheels size. Nothing seemed to work, then finally I got it to recognize my hardware and start to work. But, it was losing connection every few minutes. Then, I switched to connecting with ANT+ (I have an ANT+ USB dongle) not through the iPhone. Then it worked. I didn’t dare pause it because I need to get my workout done. Here’s to it working from now on!
