I have been using Zwift for a few years now and all of a sudden my HRM will not connect to Zwift, I have no issues connecting it to my Wahoo Element just Zwift. The last four rides it has not been available. I have changed batteries with no resolve. Just FYI I cast through my Samsung phone and am riding a Wahoo Kickr
Hi @Chris_Brumbalow Welcome to the Forums! Can you share with us the specific model of your Heart Rate Monitor?
I also checked your recent in-game generated data and noticed that your setup has some interference all around, maybe that’s why Zwift is struggling to find your HRM, I recommend reading and applying the tips in this article.
Keep us posted!
I have had this problem recently, pairing my Tickr over Bluetooth.
I could always pair it using ANT+ to my Garmin headunit and watch, but the Bluetooth pairing to Zwift (via Companion) was unreliable a lot of the time. I also tried swapping out the batteries, pairing directly and other things.
Recently (a couple of weeks), I swapped my HRM for another Tickr and it has been reliable so far.
My presumption so far is that the Bluetooth on my previous HRM had become unreliable due to the age of the Tickr.
If you’re using the same connection for both the phone and Zwift, then it’s probably not the same thing, but it might just be that yours has got to the point it needs to be replaced. Given the environment they operate in, it’s not unknown for them to break.
I’ve flagged this up at HQ for additional investigation. There are several variables that could cause connection issues outside of Zwift (e.g. wear & tear on the device or strap, improper fit/installation, physical or signal-based interference, etc.), but I want to make sure we track and consider these reports for future improvements. Please feel free to update this thread based on your troubleshooting results!
Thank you for the input. I’m going to purchase a new one this weekend and see if I makes any changes. I’ve been using the same HRM for a couple of years without issue except maybe a battery or two. When I ride irl I never have connection issues this issue seemed to come out or no where.
Just purchased a new Tickr Fit and was working earlier in the week. It now connects to Wahoo app, but not Zwift. I’ve disconnected, restarted all apps, reconnected, wahoo shows connection but Zwift cannot find anything.
Any thoughts?
You would need to supply more information about your set up, and how you’re trying to connect, in order to get any useful information.
I have Apple TV and Kicr v5. New Tickr Kit and Kicr connect to wahoo app. The Tickr was working earlier in the week. I connect all through Bluetooth, no Ant+ connections. I don’t connect through my phone as I have Zwift plays but don’t work.
Make sure that your force-quit the Wahoo app before trying to connect to Zwift. The Tickr might still be connected to the Wahoo app, which would prevent it from connecting to Zwift.
