Virtual run on Garmin watch is my best alternative. Hopefully Zwift can figure out, what they changed. And fix it
I was able to load Zwift onto my Surface Pro 6 device (running Windows 11) and after painfully waiting for it to load up (it is super slow on that device) I was able to get it to work and my Avatar moved as expected. So the problem seems to be with Android, can’t confirm Apple as I don’t have a device to try.
Hi @Michael_Bickle.
Thanks for confirming that they are now working, we appreciate that you reached us.
After checking with Horizon technicians confirmed it was related to a firmware update on their side (v6.001) that caused the issue. They provided the Zwifter with a solution and everything returned to normal.
I hope this helps, and if you have other questions, please contact us
Haziel,
My issue is not due to a firmware update. I have a Horizon 7.8AT-02 running v1.003 for the last couple years, pretty much ever since I’ve owned my treadmill. Things work for me if I use a PC, does not work using my Android devices (Samsung S7+ or Pixel 8Pro), which all worked before the last Zwift update.
@Haziel_P
I would agree with Michael. My 7.4 has always worked. Others on this thread have all had treadmills that worked. You guys did an update, now they don’t work.
The Horizon treadmills do not have Wi-Fi, so they do not auto update. I’m thinking Horizon is lying to you. I’m not home or I would try it. But I’m guessing that it won’t work. Michael says it will work on PC not android
I have been able to test the connection using my work laptop and i can corroborate Michaels findings. Using my Horizon 7.4AT treadmill running software version 4.002, Zwift on PC when connected VIA bluetooth receives run speed data from my treadmill just fine. However when trying to connect VIA bluetooth using any of my android devices whether it be connecting to zwift directly or by using the companion app as a bridge run speed data will not transmit.
I believe as Doug stated the issue is with the android version of Zwift not any of our treadmill settings or treadmill software versions since Horizon treadmills do not auto update and none of us have reported updating softwars except when i tested both 5.001 and 6.001 when initially trying to troubleshoot this issue. I have since painstakinglybreverted back to 4.002 since that was the last known working edition i had access to.
I ran this morning. Still not working with the treadmill. I had to use my Garmin watch.
Have you found a fix yet??
Maybe we should post on Zwift Runners (Facebook) @Sazumi_Lee
No fix yet other than the virtual run on my garmin which my SO’s garmin does not have meaning its not a viable solution for all Garmin owners. I have tried using the companion app as a bridge for my PC but the connection is spotty and the program crashes shortly after starting a run. I can sit in the main menu all day though. Circling back to the Virtual run option, I have finally gotten my calibration for my typical 6.6MPH pace down pat but anything faster or slower and the calibration starts drifting off but most of my running is at 6.6 so its mostly fine. The only thing that is a major pain is if i stop running for more than a few seconds because my tablets Zwift app crashes, reboots automatically, resumes my run, then proceeds to tell me the app is not responding while its actively tracking my pace and behaving normally. If i click close application there is no regaining any of my run data and if I click wait for program to respond the error pops back up in a minute or 2. As long as I keep a steady pace its fine though.
Im not a big facebook person but ill create an account if you think a post to that Facebook group will help.
I’m on Facebook, so I will do it. I just need to figure out when our treadmills stopped working with Zwift. Not sure if it will help, but Facebook was suggested to me by a wise man, that uses this forum all the time. I will update here, if I learn anything
My wife has been using our 7.4at with my Samsung tablet with no issues.
Very interesting. Ours used to work, but not anymore. S6 lite
I just tried on my Pixel 8 Pro and Samsung S7+ and it appears to be working again. The android app hasn’t updated since 4/9 and I know it wasn’t working then so some internal update must have happened.
i can confirm the same thing right now too on my 7.4 and Samsung Fold 6. The tracking is restored! It’s a miracle!
