Sinds a week my daughter and i are having problems with both of our elite trainers. The xr-t wont stay on wattage and goes up during training without a cause. And both i cant calibrate. The Avanti seems to hold wattage both feels much more heavy then the wattage says. I know this wen i switch to erg of and pedal the same wattage.
Are you calibrating via Zwift? Because if so, don’t do that. Use the Elite myEtraining app to calibrate the trainers. Use the Elite Upgrado app to check that they’re on the latest firmware.
But is this in ERG mode though? A common mistake is to change your cadence to attempt to reach the wattage target but you need to do the opposite - to keep a steady cadence and let the trainer adjust the resistance to meet the power target.
Hello,
Thank you for the responce. I never had trouble with calibrating via Zwift. But i am going to take your advice and try to calibrate via the elite app. Firmware is up to date on both.
Thank you so much for your help so far! You are a legend.
I think there may still be a bug in Zwift’s calibration feature (which was recently acknowledged) but nobody should use it unless there is no alternative
There are also some ERG mode issues with the Direto that can be related to trainer maintenance (motor screw lubrication). If the trainer is old that could also be a problem you could look into by contacting Elite support.
