Yup. I’ve done exactly that IRL many many times as a commissaire.
It is pretty well known that the ersatz time gaps in Zwift are based on distance and a fixed speed of 30 km/h, which I guess I can live with, but it would be nice if at least the distance part made sense.
(I wonder if there is some underlying architecture choice here that has also been behind the problems with the fence…)
No, this is definitely a new bug. Time gaps are useful (when working), and I was trying to check the gap of a rider trying to chase back on, and whether I needed to lift the pace or not.
Well, I’ve been observing the behaviour I described pretty consistently (when circumstances permit) for quite a while now. It’s especially noticeable when racing solo and the gap to the nearest riders behind is a minute or more, but in certain places (usually around sharp turns) they jump in front of you on the list for a while, and then back again.
It’s day 5 and ERG mode is still broken. Zwift has yet to communicate or acknowledge that the last update had numerous issues. The community is being ignored. I guess we’ll just add these issues to the list of things we’ll have to ‘live with.’
I’d say it’s unbelievable. But with Zwift, it’s expected by now.
Thanks for the update. One bug I have noticed since the update is that for Sprints and KOMs PRs, the data for last 30 days does not show up reliably. Tends to only show info for what I have done during current ride even when I know I rode the same route last week.
Also, in group rides, there are many riders near me whose names don’t show up on the riders list.
Finally, this is not related to the update but I just learned that the results (leaderboard) for women’s sprint and QOM times and rankings only gets displayed to women riders. In group rides, this means that the leader (if male) has to ask via chat who is leading on the women’s side. This is awkward. And to be honest, it feels generally lame that women’s results aren’t posted to all just as a matter of course and parity.
We’ve released a small patch v 1.0.55600 to fix up a few issues found after the update last week. This patch addresses the following issues:
Joining an event while riding with a Pace Partner no longer causes a crash.
Selecting a Pace Partner no longer causes an occasional crash.
Some billboards on the roadside in Paris no longer appear as black boxes.
The model names went missing for wheels in the Drop Shop, the names have now returned.
Additional fixes for crashes impacting some users participating in events in the France map.
The patch is available for PC and Mac now and will be in the Apple and Android stores shortly. If you encounter any additional issues with this update, please post in the thread below.
