Elite Direto - Spinning out on 0% gradients (fine everywhere else)

Hi, as per the title, been trying to find a solution to this problem but despite endless threads around issues with Direto’s, I’ve not found an actual solution to this specific issue.

Elite Direto, paired via Bluetooth, running Zwift from a Macbook Air.

The trainer works as expected for most things, however as soon as I’m doing anything other than an ERG session, when the gradient reads 0% I simply spin out. As soon as the gradient even goes up to 1 or 2% I can feel the resistance kick in as expected.

Does anyone know of an actual solution to this very specific & incredibly frustrating issue?

Thanks!

Hi @Matt_Tomlinson,

Welcome back to the forums! I’m Monica from Zwift, and I appreciate you sharing your concerns about the gradient issues with your trainer.

To help you further, please follow these steps:

  1. Reboot your devices: Unplug each device—including your Wi-Fi router, Zwift device, and trainer—for at least 30 seconds before plugging them back in.

  2. Try a different pairing method: Consider using ANT+ or the Zwift Companion app to connect your fitness device to Zwift.

  3. Test with the manufacturer’s app: Make a ride using the app provided by your trainer’s manufacturer to rule out any hardware issues.

  4. Contact the manufacturer’s support: If you continue to experience problems, I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer’s customer support for additional assistance.

If the issue persists, please feel free to contact us at support@zwift.com.
