It is clear that the problem has been not solved. Meanwhile i can´t trust on dircon to do any race because you dont know when the disconnection is going to happen. It is very frustating.
Please @shooj give us some info about incoming solutions.
I have new issues (started 2/3 weeks ago with a ZWIFT UPDATE) with DIRCON (KICKR SHIFT) showing up as an option on my MAC MINI with Tahoe, HOWEVER…. it shows up and works with my MACBOOK AIR with Sequoia. Both Zwift applications are Game Version 1.104.4 (157262).
I haven’t tried deleting the Zwift APP from the non-working MINI yet, I guess that’s the next step. Just odd DIRCON works on my laptop and not on the MINI plugged into the EERO.
Updated yesterday to Zwift 1.105.3 on a Windows laptop. I’m using a Kickr Bike v2 running the latest FW, connected via WiFi on a Starlink mesh. I rebooted the Starlink router yesterday after the Zwift update.
Today I was doing a TR workout on Zwift when I experienced several connection drops. The second drop gave me the Connection Error message and I lost power and cadence and my avatar came to a stop. Normally the drops would reconnect after a few seconds, but this one did not. I had to go to the pairing screen and Zwift then reconnected to my hardware. I did not lose BT connection to my HRM. I checked my Starlink app, and there was no loss of service when the bike disconnected.
Besides rebooting the Starlink router again I’m not sure what the solution to this is.
Tilt is working again with DirCon and no dropouts - Fingers crossed that something was changed, although I have seen any wording in the update notes about it…
Well, another disconnection today after a couple of weeks. After the ladder race i was doing the cool down on a group ride and suddenly disconnect happens. I have 0 trust to do races using the dircon.
I have a kickr v5 with DirCo for a couple of years or more and has been working fine until these last months when this problem appears.
Zwift updated, kickr updated, zwift play controllers updated, dedicated computer running only zwift on windows 10….
I dont understand why this topic has been declared as solved.
I had a disconnect after the ZRL TTT on Tuesday. I crossed the line, got off the bike to stop my stream and grab a drink, so was idle for a few minutes. I messed around with it and was able to get it back (not sure of what steps I took exactly, I think I connected through both BT and ANT+, then WiFi DIRCON worked again)
This tracks with any disconnects I’ve had since Zwift introduced the last “fix” in an update - It will sometimes disconnect if there is a long-ish period of idle, as the other times have been when I start Zwift 30min+ before a race start but don’t warm up.
Had unfortunately 3 disconnects this morning (wifi on the bike). the first two were dropouts for 5-10sec, so I could stay with the pack. The 3rd one made me put the foot down and switch to ANT since not reconnecting. Was viewing a Youtube video during the full time, no internet drop anywhere @shooj Any update for this case? Can you remove the “solve” label?
@shooj Disaster on Apple TV today. Initially, it looked like everything connected, but two things happened.
Heart rate showed connected, but read “0”.
ERG would not activate during my workout.
Tried switching to pairing via iPhone/ZCA, but that wouldn’t work either. Had to shut down ATV, restart, pair via iPhone/ZCA then everything worked fine. ATV/ZCA are operating with the recent updates.
WiFi Connection broken on Kickr Core 2 as well. Got a connection only after power cycling the Kickr. But it wasn’t reliable, it broke after just 3 minutes into the ride. Had to switch to Bluetooth in order to fix it.
Clearly something has changed on the server side or with 1.106.0, it was fine until 1.105.3.
I experienced the zero heart rate as well after the most recent update. In my case I have a CORE body temp which takes the signal from my HRM strap and then sends both temp and HR together as one signal. The temperature was present but not the HR. Until I read the post above I assumed it was an issue between my HRM and the CORE but when I checked the CORE app right after the ride it was reading the HRM signal.
It’s not just me then. I’ve also got a Kickr V5 and used it for direct LAN connection to my laptop for the last couple of years. It has certainly not been solved, as it reports here. I’ve just uninstalled Zwift, deleted the installation folder, cleared out cookies & temp files etc, updated firmware, re-installed and it still does not connect to the LAN direct as it used to do a couple of months ago.
Kickr5, direct Ethernet connect, through a switch next to the trainer and PC (i.e. 2 4’ Ethernet cables and the switch between trainer and PC). Not working since September for Direct Connect. Very occasionally will see it in the pairing screen, but if selected, it fails to actually work.
