Hello Zwiters! The phased rollout of game version 1.99 begins today for Windows / macOS / Android devices. The phased rollout for iOS and tvOS devices begins tomorrow.
Zwifters can now unlock the JetBlack cycling kit by riding with any JetBlack trainer - just connect to the trainer in the Pairing screen and enjoy your ride!
Improved connection reliability for trainers paired via Wi-Fi.
Zwift now includes device linking, allowing users to connect their heart rate monitor to Zwift via their new KICKR CORE 2 trainer in the pairing screen.
Fixed an issue where relayed sensors may be duplicated on the Pairing screen when using the Wahoo Kickr Core 2.
Fixed an issue that could cause virtual shifting to be unavailable for Zwifters using the new Zwift Click if they had previously disabled virtual shifting for Zwift Play controllers.
Improved the appearance of some pedestrians in Paris.
Windows: Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting Zwift with devices connected via ANT+.
UPDATE October 8
Phased rollout continues to Windows / macOS / Android / iOS.
Phased rollout to iOS/tvOS begins today.
UPDATE October 9
Phased rollout to all platforms is complete.
Do you have questions or issues to report? Let us know here.
Can I hope for a big fix of the tilt on Wahoo Kickr bike using direct connection?
Alternatively a fix of the ANT+ causing a freeze of the Kickr bike shifter?
At a point of time this situation reminds me when ZWIFT was in competition with Wahoo and no longer focused on Wahoo specific bugs. Are we all agree this time is over and ZWIFT and Wahoo are pushing to sell CORE 2 and bike Pro ?
Pretty happy with Zwift of late, no problems with the Companion App lately either. You also need a reasonably solid hardware setup for reliability, people defiantly under estimate what it takes to run it without issues and get decent fps numbers.
@shooj when you mention that this version improves connection reliabilities for trainers paired via WiFi, does it also include DirCon connection? Last 2 months I’m suffering from sudden disconnects and dropouts, sometimes for 10 seconds, sometimes my trainer just doesn’t come up again. And I have been riding flawless on my kickr bike v2 for the rest of the year so far, except the last 2 months. I was about to create a ticket, but maybe you can tell me if this version tackles my issues. Clearly this is a software issue, but how to fix this? I noticed the same issue with other friends with a kickr bike v2.
I’m seeing some issues with Direct Connect (cabled) as well. I don’t think I’ve seen it on 1.99 yet, but started with the new pairing screen. (September update I think?)
I haven’t had any dropouts (check your cable?) but have had the trainer not show up in the pairing screen and had to reboot my PC & trainer.
(I actually don’t know that I needed to reboot both, but if I’m doing either I can do both and it seemed to fix it)
Direct Connect tends to be a rock-solid method of pairing until one day suddenly it isn’t. When this happens, reboot your WiFi router.
Then - also reboot your Zwifting computer, and your trainer so that they re-establish a local network. Would you try that and see if DirCon goes back to being its usual, reliable self?
Hey @shuji I have already tried that, Wifi reboot (on all satellites), PC reboot, unplugging Kickr bike for minutes long, and reconnecting it to the power cable again to force reboot, unplugging steering controller cables for some minutes. But in the last 2 months (give or take) I kept on getting these surprises. The same as when working on wifi only, even with static IP address. That is gonna be my last possible attempt to assign a new fixed ip address on the router to the MAC address of the dircon adapter. I was the happiest man when everything became stable using DirCon, but nowadays it takes away my confidence. If you might have other suggestions, always willing to test things out.
