Custom workouts not appearing in Zwift, not syncing to other devices [April 2023]

I just had the same issue as you all and by looking through the log file, I was able to determine that zwift did not like a special character in the .zwo filename (a letter with an accent). So for those of you what may have french or spanish characters in your file names, this could be causing the issue. I simply changes the filename to something more basic and it synced without issue

I’ve found that if you create a sub-folder in your Zwift ID folder, and upload your file to the sub-folder within your Zwift ID folder, it seems to work fine. Not sure what the reasoning is, but it worked for me.

Update: it’s no longer working…

Hi I confirm I had French accents in the name of the workout. I deleted them in the TextEditor, deleted the workoutfile and relaunch. And mircale, it synchs again on IOS devices. Thanks for the tip, you saved my day :slight_smile:

Would someone from the Zwift team be able to reach out to me? I’ve just had 2.5hrs of type 2 fun doing a custom workout, but it doesn’t show up in my activities? However, the drops and new gear I unlocked DO show up in my profile?

For info, customer workout file name: Long_Bike_2_30, saved directly in the custom workout directory (no subfolders), downloaded straight from Intervals.icu.

Friendly reminder, to ensure your workouts sync across your devices, don’t include special characters, including symbols and punctuation, in workout names.

I want to confirm that the root cause of valid custom workouts not syncing across Zwift devices was fixed several Zwift versions back. These recent reports appear to be due to configuration errors or are not sync issues.
