Custom work-outs on PC app not syncing to Ipad and Iphone

Hello,

I know the question was asked by others already in the past but I wonder whether there could be a more recent response:

  • I created loads of custom workouts on the PC app
  • I don’t see them on the Ipad and Iphone app
  • I really tried everything, through the cloud and then placing files on Files/On my Ipad any Zwift folder but there is none. Then through the Apple devices app on my PC (connecting the PC and Ipad with USB), but doesn’t work either, I cannot get into the Zwift folder and if I save the folder with all workouts beside it (the one that is numeric), it still doesn’t work
  • I then tried to create a test custom workouts on Ipad, hoping that it would help me eventually finding the Zwift folder in my Files on my Ipad. Not only it is not the case but even, that workout is not either synchronizing with Iphone app (not mentioning the PC app)

In short, there seems to be no cloud transmission of any kind anywhere of my custom workouts and the Zwift folder on Ipad seems hidden.

Do you have any potential way to resolve that?

Thanks!

If you’re creating the workout directly in Zwift on your iPad, there should be a folder called Custom within the workouts library in Zwift where it is saved. And, while I haven’t created any workouts on the PC for a while, my memory says that you have to have Zwift installed on your PC. Then, once you crest the zwo file, the workout should be saved in the workout folder that is within the Zwift directory. From there it should be synched across all devices on which you are using Zwift.

Hopefully someone with more definitive info will also respond.

Could you confirm are you opening and running Zwift Game on your IPad and IPhone
OR
Are you using your IPad and IPhone to open and run the Zwift Companion App?

As far as I am aware Custom workouts are not visible on IPad and IPhone from within the Zwift Companion App.

I can certainly see the few custom workouts I have on my IPad but ONLY if I am actually in game.

Hello,
Many thanks to both Nigel and Ian for your quick responses.

To Nigel: I see a custom workout I created in the app but no file location on Ipad. I need a file location to be able to potentially import zwo files I would have copied-pasted (whatever the way) from my PC. On My PC, I do have the Zwift app, it is in the app actually that I created all these workouts.

To Ian: I am opening and running the Zwift Game, there is no workouts from those I created on the PC app. I assume I’d need a workaround anyway.

Many thanks,

Best,

Yvan

Some of these tips might be useful

Thanks for this, Paul.

The response I got from Zwift AI support is that indeed, there is no way for custom workouts created on PC for the same account as on Ipad to be used on the Ipad. It is quite surprising and slightly disappointing in 2026 but it it what it is.

If their AI said that, it’s wrong.

Did you try to start the Zwift app on PC? Perhaps it is necessary for syncing the workouts? I have all my user workouts on PC, but I don’t use anything else for Zwift.

Before starting on PC don’t forget to log out and kill the app on any other device!

Edit - all my user workouts are showing in the Zwift App for Android! I created the workouts with an ZWO editor, not in the Zwift App.

Many thanks for that, Milan, interesting!

I directly created my workouts in the ZWIFT PC App. I did all, close and restart, on all devices but it did not work. But what you say on your Android app syncing is interesting..

I may end up just using my PC, so I have a different question: does the app work well in workout mode in terms of connection with a smart trainer (I have a Elite Rivo Cog and Click). I heard that I’d better use a ANT+ USB key, which I don’t have at this stage, so it is all wifi and/or bluetooth.

Thanks!

Yvan

Virtual shifting cannot work with ANT+ on any trainer, and on Elite trainers it currently does not work over WiFi, so Bluetooth is the only option for Elite trainers. If Bluetooth is not reliable for you on the PC, the best solution is usually a dongle with a RealTek chipset like the TP-Link UB500. It doesn’t guarantee a good result but it’s often much better than whatever is built in to the PC.
