Connection Failure - ridesense

No changes to my setup and I successfully rode on Friday. Now getting “Connection Failure” when I try to ride.

  • Replaced battery in sensor (it had been awhile)
  • Nothing else is connected. I have a very low tech setup of fluid2/ridesense to my phone. Usually even ride with ridesense off and just go for speed.
  • as noted above nothing changed with setup between Friday and Monday when issue started
  • tested both as free ride or workout; issue occurs

Hi @Cyclinglady345 welcome to Zwift forums.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. When you say Ridesense - I guess you mean the combined speed and cadence sensor from Giant?

It sounds like that sensor works with a magnet, is that so? Would you check that the sensor passes closely over the magnet? If there’s too big of a gap, the sensor may not be sending any data to Zwift, which might lead to this message.

The other thing I noticed is a human habit thing - I see multiple log ins to the game from your Pixel 6, but no proper log out (the save-and-exit / trash-and-exit at the end of your session). If you’re just swiping the app into the background - that doesn’t tell the server that you intended to end your session.

Additionally, it’s a good idea to force-close the Zwift app after you’re done. What this does is clears out the temp file clutter that builds up over time. Here’s how.

Would you try those things and see if the connection returns to the way it should work?
